Bree has a new contract, Roerslev is fit again and was signed by the current recruitment team. We don't need 3 senior right backs and would be hard to keep all 3 happy. He could play ahead of Bree as a right sided midfielder. Probably more direct than Fellows 😬 1

benjii Posted Wednesday at 13:19 Posted Wednesday at 13:19 It's a good job the play offs have expanded with the likes of Blackburn making statement signings. 2

MLG says there's no link with Stewart (and he's often right) and I can't see anything on their website to say they are taking big names or Stewart or Scienza for that matter. In fact, Scienza has only said he's 'open to possibilities' = so he's possibly staying with us. Ramsdale to Brighton? Just a guess given they're selling Rushworth.

St Chalet Posted Wednesday at 15:55 Posted Wednesday at 15:55 Ross Stewart was reportedly on £20k per week with us. Appreciate he also cost us £9m to sign. I'd imagine at his age he's looking for a 2-3 year deal. 2

MarkSFC Posted Wednesday at 18:14 Posted Wednesday at 18:14 I hope we move on from Stewart for good. He may well prove valuable elsewhere but he cant be relied upon and it seems cant give us 90 minutes regularly or even for one game. And I do not think he is PL standard really. I hope we go for a tall fast player more than capable for this league but with potential for when ee go up. No idea who but not Stewart. 5

When he first joined he was throwing in some delicious crosses for our midget-forward. Big Kyle would have thrived on them. Now admittedly he made some simply woeful defensive mistakes....and a fair few of them. We're a stronger, more settled and confident unit now though, so perhaps that can be cut out? Guessing he would want to be first choice though, and presumably we want the $$. He might be useful, but he showed he ain't good enough for the PL. His touch was shit, his decision making poor, pass selection crap and he was error prone. We have Bree, who has shown he is decent at this level, so let's sell Sugawara while there is still interest in him and then try again to find someone that might cut it at PL level at some point. 1

Pwoite Posted Wednesday at 20:02 Posted Wednesday at 20:02 So, with the majority of the pre season matches now behind us, what have we potentially learnt from team selection? Clearly, it has confirmed that we have two keepers surplus to requirements, but we knew that already. Charles hasn’t been played, so potentially his departure is close and we don’t want him injured. Edozie might be in a similar position, as he wasn’t seen today, but there again, neither was Fellows. BBB and Archer, and possibly Downs and Quarshie, have been tested, I suspect, with a view to deciding whether we look to twist or stick on them. Could we sell and do better, at what net cost? Sugawara will be added to this group. I suspect that every player has a price on his head, and if an offer matches it, we will sell. Of course, some of those prices will be high, whereas others will be giveaway rates. Looking at the team Will Still selected for our opening match last season, it looks stronger than what we have available, but we know how that turned out. From that eleven we jettisoned a former Championship top scorer, a former Scottish international, part of England’s U21 winning squad, a Republic of Ireland and a Japanese international by January, and went from strength to strength.

We certainly won't be selling Downs for anywhere near what we paid for him so another loan would be more likely anyway. It's all well and good impressing in training and friendlies but that's a world away from real competitive games so at the moment I would say he's got an opportunity to prove he's worthy of a squad place. Even that might be a stretch if we can't shift Archer or BBD. Hopefully he comes good but he was so far out of his depth last season that it feels unlikely. 2
BARCELONASAINT Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I have been told that we should only expect 2 major signings and they are both dependant on Stewart either resigning for us or not (currently our offer is the best on his table!) and Shea Charles moving, which is highly likely. So a replacement midfielder and potentially a new striker. Dobbin is definately NOT a Stewart replacement, he will be a RW and AZAZ relief replacement. At this current time they are not expecting to lose any other major first team players. 16

Scienzas comments didn’t exactly suggest he was desperate to stay or leave by my issue is with him that at 28 convincing him to give it one more season might be a tough ask then doing that with Jander. Still think a lower half premier league club might come in for THB later in the window

Obviously just speculation at the moment but that would be a stronger team than last year even without Charles. I still think THB goes because Blackmore yesterday seemed quite sure.
