He destroyed our under 18s team a few years ago. We couldn't cope with his strength and speed.

Thanks for posting this. I was hoping to get in there first about it.

Super important to utilise the Premier League loans and he’s a great start. Would also be happy to get a winger on loan.

JJ Gabriel please 🙏

Max Alleyne can come home too. Only caught him once for City when he was recalled but he looked composed. Makes the CB spot stronger.

Agreed.. Alleyne adds pace to the backline. Give the armband to Tay too

Who is JJ Gabriel?

Divan Mukamba, is he any good?

JJ is about 3 years old at Man Utd & looks a ridiculous talent.

Seems similar to chat about Larin before he signed.

Looks like the kid was hung out to dry there.

Exactly, youth football & loans are choppy waters in terms of predicting future outcomes.

Reading / Blackpool / Cambridge fans probably wouldn’t be saying Dom Ballard is going to boss League one in the 2025/26 season.

Yeah, he got a bad ankle injury.

That was from January to March.

Hope this isn't our Stewart replacement because he looks a pretty significant downgrade.

Bearing in mind how wrong I was about Larin I'm not going to judge. Seem to remember him being a handful against us before he got sent off last season.

This is a great chance to offer him minutes in a side that's going to get a lot of crosses in without expecting him to do it all on his own or expecting him to play 90 minutes every game.

West Ham fans reckon they'd happily take him back on loan.

I think we probably have to accept that any Stewart replacement would/will be a perceived downgrade. The only reason we'd have had a striker as good as Stewart as our backup striker is because he is made of biscuits

Sorry to see Shea go but we have plenty of midfielders so no need to replace as such. Use (some of) the money to buy a striker now please. Another Larin type but maybe a bit younger and we'd have a bloody good side.

We don't have 'plenty' of midfielders. We need 4 CMs for the system and way we play. Critical that we replace Shea. Also critical that we bring in one or more like 2 strikers (and get rid of BBD/Down). Also need a backup keeper.

Hopefully an upgrade on BBD though

Not particularly enamoured with our wing options either, Scienza aside.

I was hoping Dragan's bullish talk of absolutely going for it this season would have looked a bit more ambitious, but I guess he said all the right things before season tickets went on sale, and here we are.

The squad's good, and we should certainly make the top 8. But the league is stronger this year, so standing still is not going to cut it.

Is this a new board game? Can't be arsed to work out what it all means. Who is the better player?

It's a Spider Graph (I think they probably call them something fancy in the world of footy analytics, like a Player Radar or something) anyway, What this one sort of shows (and given the minutes are similar, it's reasonably useful):

Mubama is stronger all-round/physical forward profile.

Lankshear: comparable player, with some potentially more interesting attacking numbers.

Which, given what we want is fine. We want a classic link-up man to bring the midfielders and wingers up the pitch as well as a finisher.

I wouldn't trust just this graph, but it's a decent comparison for sure.

Let's be honest no one has any idea if this is a good deal or not. He has shown a lot of promise in pre season which is good but was pretty underwhelming last season which is a negative. If Larin can stay fit then we won't have to rely on him too much anyway. Let's hope he's blossomed like a Delap or a Kane and in a better team that creates more he can score more and be a handful. Not the sure thing I was hoping for after Stewart left but could still end up as a smart acquisition.

What we all dont know is what his projected development trajectory looks like. Not that every player always ends up where it is forecast but you'd hope that all our analysts and sports science people have a decent idea of where he is.

I like the sound of him and it could just be a brilliant signing. Was hoping for someone more established but theres gambles with them too.

Larin, Mubama, Archer, Leo, Dobbin, Azaz....should be plenty of goals from them.

Then you've got the defenders especially THB and Manning.

Would be great if Fellows starts scoring but I'm not holding my breath.

Worth reading some of the first pages of that thread where he gets a lot of praise as well. Seems like using a 19 year old kid in his first loan as first choice number 9 was probably a bit too much too soon.

If they really want something like that then it's going to have to be a top striker and someone like Jordan James. Not sure we can afford both

Get this st on loan Tgen a replacement for Shea this week

With the Shea sale, for me getting a new CM in is the priority, especially as we still don't know if Jander will be here come September. Second is a striker but we're hamstrung with too many of the ones we don't want. Third is a second keeper. After that it becomes replacing anyone we sell or upgrading existing positions if the right player comes along.

Thankless task.

That wouldn't be good. Mubama is the Stewart replacement. Losing Archer would leave us weaker than last year.

Perhaps theres another striker in the pipeline too which allows Archer to go (and BBD🙏🤞😂)

I wonder if Jebbison might come in too if we shift Archer, BBD and Downs? Probs too far down the pecking order for his liking.

We ain’t signing another keeper whilst Ramsdale and Baz are still here.

CM we’ve got 3 and just one I’ve no doubt we’ll replace Charles probably with a YHGTIer as we won’t get better than Jander, Downes and Bragg for our budget

Striker looks like the City kid to play second fiddle to Larin until he proves he’s better

were well stocked it’s a decent squad and let’s not forget the added bonus it’s been together for a season which is rare in this league

If we can shift BBD, Sugawara, Bazunu and Ramsdale that'd be grand.

Would love to see Edozie get a run but realistically we're getting what we can for him.

Not sure how many more runs we should be giving Edozie. Don't think he's going to cut it for us.

I’m not a fan of Edozie and neither is anyone else considering we’ve been trying to sell him for two years and failed but he could offer something off the bench. Hes a typical winger you’ve seen 100000 of got a trick and a bit of skill so on first viewing everyone thinks is decent but delivers very little. Shame really as his move to us has ruined him as he was quite highly rated. Guess 3 years of barely playing does that

Always thought he was pretty decent but very lightweight when first came to us. Second season was playing well and contributing quite a bit but getting hacked to pieces every game (as he was too good for the defenders), until that almost career ender against Norwich which somehow wasn’t a red card. A truly awful challenge!

Pretty sure something must’ve happened behind the scenes for him to be completely overlooked first half of last season (probably wasn’t happy with being loaned out before), but didn’t do terribly when was needed, albeit (understandably) a bit rusty
