Was very highly rated at one point and has 9 caps for Belgium so hopefully pretty good!!

Baird of the land Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Vranckx career seems to have stalled somewhat. 7 goals in his 3 years and then none in 4.
revolution saint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Seems like a few links coming up now, none of them seem to address the problems we have when Jander isn't available though.

jrobsbigshorts Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I've been so bored of all the " would you take JWP back " chat on here this summer cos I thought it was completely hypothetical, he'll never fucking come back I said !!! I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again I'd love to see him back in a saints shirt ,for me a useful addition and if Jander stays we'll be just about ok but could still do with another box to box player ideally

As he's out of contract we can sign him after window closes too. I'm surprised he wasn't invited to attend preseason training, but maybe that wouldn't work. The medical will be interesting. Is he a left or right sided player? I forget. I'm a little unsure what the pecking order is for left and right wing (and central position) and if we need three for each position. Left: Scienza, Dobbin, Edozie Right: Fellows, Matsuki, Edozie Centre: Azaz, Scienza, Dobin, Matsuki

Charlie Wayman Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If our aim is to build a side that can stay in and compete in the PL should we win promotion, then the last thing we need is to waste our very limited resources on bringing back a 32 yo Ward Prowse for largely sentimental reasons. He has no future value to the club, will be over the hill soon if not already and lacks the athleticism that will be essential in midfield to compete at the higher level and even at thios level. It's all very well pointing to his considerable experience in the PL and free kick record but more recently he has failed to cut the mustard at WHU, Notts F or Burnley. Why do people on here expect anything to be different if he re-joined Saints? It won't. We don't need a geriatric passenger who happens to take free kicks well, we have one of those already. Worse still he will be blocking the progress of youngsters like Akachukwu and our youngsters is where our future must lie. Signing JWP will be a munumental folly that we must not commit or will come to regret. 3

Signing JWP will be a munumental folly that we must not commit or will come to regret. Under Moyes at WHU he did well, his time at Forest and WHU under Nuno has been a disaster, he just hasn’t wanted to use him. Thats how he ends up having to go on loan to Burnley. It’s hard to tell how good he actually is right now as Nuno has blocked a lot of his playing time due to personal reasons, rather than playing ones. That works both ways, he may have dropped off a cliff but running more than anyone on the pitch vs City suggests that’s unlikely. He doesn’t owe us any sell on value, we got £30m for him, pure profit as an academy player and he’s being signed now for a nominal fee (less than £1m). The wages are going to be near the top of our squad, Azaz is on the same as he is reportedly on at WHU. He won’t be earning any more than the other key players. Our young players can learn from him, we’ve seen in the season so far they are not ready to step in and be starters, so we’ve gone and got a proven PL player that should be more than capable at this level. I think he will do well for us this season. I’d have preferred to sign a Jordan James or similar but JWP is not a disaster signing as you imply. Edited 4 hours ago by goodymatt 2
