Bit early to write them off. Argentina lost their opening match against Saudi Arabia four years ago.

Perhaps but Argentinians had visible potential. Spain have no strikers and their system is ridiculous. Defence looks shaky at times.

Just watching some of the highlights from games on BBC - what the actual F**k - Aussies v Turkey - comms are calling Turkey, Turkeya. What the hell is going on? We are in England - they are Turkey and have been all my 58 year life. What the hell is up with our pretentious BBC gimps?

No. They were called Turkey for about 54 years of your life. They changed their name in 2022. It's nothing to do with the BBC.

Has someone been annoyed about the pronunciation for fifty years? That's what I want to know.

Seemingly the Turkish were annoyed about the spelling.

Its all bs though - we don’t call Germany Deutschland.

Exactly ... we don't walk around being prententious talking about holidays in Espana, or the Deutchland office. But the media (namely the BBC) insist on not saying Turkey. Annoying.

I guess some people are just easily annoyed. Seriously, who gives a fuck.

It's literally bugger all to do with the BBC.

They didn’t want to be associated with a big fat bird and frankly who does?

The problem is the English language 😉

I have now decided on behalf of my country, that the BBC can no longer refer to us as Norway. You must all now say "Norge", the way we say it

Ok, as long as you call us England in Norway.

Oh wait, I just looked it up, they do call us England in Norge. Sorry.
