CanadaSaint Posted yesterday at 15:25 Posted yesterday at 15:25 This is the programme from my first Saints v Pompey game. My Dad added the score and then - in a superbly cheeky moment - sent it to Pompeys President (a national wartime hero) and asked him to autograph it, which he kindly did. Another result like that on Sunday would do nicely. 30

Yes, I want us to win. Yes, I'd be very happy to see Portsmouth relegated. But I don't hate Portsmouth fans for being Portsmouth fans. They, like us, are just supporting their local club. We come from two fairly similar cities on the south coast of England. Both cities have their good and bad points. Coming from one doesn't make you superior over those coming from the other - except for the purposes of a joke. Having said all that, I'll no doubt be joining in with "Who are you?" chants when we go two up in Sunday. ‘Fairly similar cities’ is an absolutely mental take. Anyone who has been unfortunate enough to spend any time over there knows they are a terrible breed of human. A decrepit, cesspit of a place. I wish them and their city nothing but the worst. 6

OttawaSaint Posted yesterday at 16:44 Posted yesterday at 16:44 Had a dream last night that the final score will be 2-2 with P@$%%y scoring a last kick equaliser! Can someone warn Peretz to not parry a weak corner out towards the penalty spot on 90+8 minutes! 1

I think that would have been very close to my first home game at the Dell after moving from Pompey to the Waterside with my old Dad who had just come out the Navy. Within a few months the two of us became firm Saints fans. Is my memory correct.....I am 78 years of age now.....that very soon after that match, Saints signed Tony Knapp from Leicester at centre half, Dave Burnside from WBA in midfield and the magnificent George Kirby from Plymouth who played up front with Georgie O'Brien. I think Tommy Mulgrew lost his place. So you soon had Terry Paine on the right wing with his skill and trickery and Johnny Sydenham on e left with blistering paice, putting crossses in to the pen area for Kirby to get on the end of and O'Brien to pick up the off loads. Also I see that Jimmy Dickenson was still playing in that game for Pompey. I think he was in his late 30's by then. Greatdays and wonderful memories of watching games at the Dell 14 1

Dr Who? Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago We ‘should’ smash them as are home form is amazing, we are coming off some very unexpected good news in the week and the skates are the worst team we have played this season and have many out. But this is a derby and it never goes with form. I am hoping we smash them of course but have a feeling it will be a tight one. Their form has been ok if I remember right?
Vancouver Saint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Bloomin' heck - a three week waste of time gap for internationals, then they put us down for a 12.00 kick-off - 4.00am Sunday morning for me...😡 If we win 4-0 put it down to me missing it...if it's another dull 0-0 draw I decided to watch it!
trousers Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Everything in Saints' favour... - Tonda on the touchline - Players and fans bouyed by the FA outcome - Squad more or less fully fit - immensely better squad than PCFC's on paper - PCFC dealing with an injury crisis - home advantage - Mars lined up with Uranus So it's all set up nicely for a typical "Saintsy" outcome... A scrawny 2-1 victory to the inbred charity, trophy and tax thieves.... Edited 21 hours ago by trousers 3

SouthWalesSaints Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago We have to win this game. I hope Tonda doesn’t get caught up in needing to bring Larin and Scienza off at 0-0 because we have Norwich Wednesday. Even from a league stand point getting within 3 of West Ham would be a psychological boost. Hope the atmosphere is what it has been at St Mary’s for recent big games. Arsenal, Boro, Ipswich etc 1

die Mannyschaft Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Have Skates actually got players out injured? Real first 11 players, looks like most now back in convention as its all mind games. Skates are confident thier style of play (the away game last season) will cause Saints problems. I just hope we can defend long balls in box and corners. Scienza will be a target to take out so we need others to attack and run with ball Azaz needs to step up. Jander could be an option. I may miss 1st half as my son has game for Eastleigh academy u16 v Porchester at 10am !! At Hedge End.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago If we get an early goal, the floodgates will open. We started the home game so poorly last time so we need a fast start. Get at them and get at them early.
suewhistle Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Perhaps play Scienza slightly more inside so that when (not if) he gets taken out and if (not when) he gets a free kick or two that it will be in JWP range. It seems odd that after he left us his opportunities for free kicks and resulting goals completely fell off a cliff, so let's hope he's been practising again.. 1

Good shout that, they will certainly be looking to chop Sienza at any opportunity but they’ll be a bit more reluctant if he’s cutting inside around the box.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago They’ll be parked in the middle of the pitch, defending their box and trying to have no gaps between their defence and midfield. We need to use as much width as we can and Leo on the wing is key to that. Besides, have you forgotten how playing him in the middle went at Watford?

He was ripping them apart in that position to begin with. Unfortunately their cynical, snidey attempts to injure him had an impact and he became subdued after the second one.

Given Matsuki on the other side isn't a natural wide player he'll more than likely come inside more so we don't want Scienza doing that too.
