Can’t win them all. I thought Bolton looked very handy. We should have scored at least twice though.

What the absolute fuck were Azaz and Matsuki doing at the end there? 20 seconds left and they both cut back to go backwards, Matsuki forgetting the ball altogether and nearly costing us the game.

Not a terrible performance despite the reaction on here but it certainly is embarrassing that we didn't come into the game and just pepper Bazunus goal with shots.

Robbed.

Garbage, didn’t work hard enough. Even if the referee gave the penalty, do you honestly think we’d have converted it?

Players need to be up for it every game and today they weren’t.

Most frustrating game I can ever remember. Missed about 5 sitters and an absolute stone wall penalty that was probably the worst decision I’ve seen at SMS in 25 years. They lacked any quality whatsoever, but were well organised.

Fucking shit.

Well organised, Schumacher doing a good job.

Can’t miss multiple sitters like that and still win.

0-0 feels like 0-9 given what could have been. Tonda fucked up. Ref robbed us of a pen from the obvious handball. And Spors has fucked us over by not signing a decent striker. Last but not least it is scandalous that we didn’t test Bazunu once with any conviction.

I mean we were poor and missed some sitters but questions need to be asked about the referee. Bottled the second yellow and denying us a nailed on penalty was almost cheating.

If Bree scores, as he should have done, we go away happy. As it is, frustrating. We fucking move on.

Dobbin, Bree and a penalty that should have been given.

At least we got a third clean sheet in a row.

The ridiculous set up set the tone for the mess

Rubbish - if Saints could have finished (and been given a stonewall penalty) we would have won quite comfortably.

Bolton played well and defended well and looked more dangerous up front than Saints.

3 clean sheets in 6 days and 7 points is not to be sniffed at: we are not going to win every game and today was one of those days.

Really concerning about Larin - Dobbin is absolute shit and Tonda clearly does not rate the Man City loanee.  Maybe Princewill will get a look in?

Yeah, something was missing, the usual cohesion wasn’t there, maybe too many changes.

Unforgivable misses from Scienza and Bree

Stonewall Peno

Fucking useless ref

At least we didn’t give away a sucker punch winner

Fuck the EFL with their schedule and shitty refs.

You forgot the two misses from Dobbin.

That’s very much on the manager with some half baked trying to be clever playing players in bizarre positions. No point keeping mbama if he doesn’t get time in a game like that. As for our finishing… embarrassing and 9m for dobbin!!!

Haven't looked particularly good for a while now - don't let two ugly wins overshadow how disjointed and stilted our play has become.

Could have quite easily lost that.

Something's not clicking. We've got a proper run of games against teams at our level now - if our standards don't improve quickly, they won't be much fun.

Agreed. One of the darkest days in our history.

Our collective Saints frustration levels are ridiculously high. Blood pressure through the roof.

We didn't necessarily play badly, just couldn't fucking finish our dinner.

Hope that doesn't dent Dobbin's confidence. He's been pretty shite overall and a waste of money, really.

Flat as a witches tit today - the whole side - and Bolton were completely there for the taking. A trio of absolute sitters missed, and not having an understudy for Larin cost us the game. About the worst trio of officials I’ve seen at St Marys and that’s a high fucking bar in this league. Will need a rocket at West Ham!

This is on Tonda, faffing about with the formation. Overloaded on the left when they were essentially playing two right backs, genius!

No options down the right until he eventually moved Scienza out there.

We are 100% at home against a newly promoted side, you don't need to dick about with the tactics

So you approved of the oddity formation then?🤣

Some tired legs out there at the end. 3 games in less than a week has taken its toll clearly.

We can point to the stonewall penalty not given, but based on how terrible our finishing was today I'm not confident anybody would have put it away.

Badly missed Flynn and his energy in the middle.

Larin clearly out of sorts is a worry, given Spors' total failure to sign an adequate backup. If Tonda still doesn't trust Mubama in those circumstances then what a pointless signing he has been.

James Bree with miss of the fucking century 🤦‍♂️

At least some of those above us also dropped points today, so it's not a total disaster, but it's still not good enough. We just need to keep in touching distance with them until January so we can get some attacking reinforcements in.

Yeah, at least one should have gone in. Really, really poor signing and footballer.

False striker? Nope, useless at that.

Actual striker? No presence, movement or finishing?

#10? Supposed to be his best position but looked no better there.

Left midfielder/winger? No pace, penetration or bottle, dreadful there at the start of the season.

Tonda over thought that.

Leo and Fellows on the same side just congested it, no one seemed to know where or when to run .

Don't fancy West Ham away without Larin .

I thought of them as being a bogey team

Nothing new though. When we were relegated to Division 2 in the 1970’s it was much the same.

Played them eight times over four seasons between relegation and promotion. No wins. Whenever they came to The Dell they’d have two brick shithouse CB’s who head everything away (often halfway into their own half) or just welly it as an up and under. No surprise that one of their Neanderthal defenders was Sam Allardyce.

We’d outplay them, not score and they’d break away for a 1-0.

Horrible team to play.

With Bazunu in goal I’m hoping for a 4or5-0, but going on history with them 0-1 would be no surprise.

Nothing changes it seems.

But our run at home was always going to come to an end. Shame as with Bazunu in goal it should have been an opportunity. At least they didn’t sneak one

Not a complete disaster after the wins earlier in the week. But definitely a missed opportunity to close/keep up with the top 2 and the kind of game we should be winning.

Tonda needs to stop pissing about with formations and playing people out of position and keep it simple from the start of games. We got away with it vs Pompey, but dropped 2 points today that we might not have done if we had started players in their natural positions. If the starting team doesn't work, then is the time to try different things later in game, not from start vs a team we should beat.

Didn't replace Stewart with anything remotely decent and continually waste half of each game playing ineffective crab football.

Spors tried, he got Dobbin - was he not meant to be the replacement? Shame he's been shite, but Spors has got a few decent players in.

Not the 0-1 smash and grab that I predicted but still a very disappointing result.
I guess that's the price you pay for being so dependent on Larin.

In other news, Archer has now scored 4 in 4.

I couldn’t see the point of loaning out Archer and spending £9m on Dobbin.

That would be worse news than the pissing up the wall of two points today

That was frustrating. Put it down to one of those games where just nothing goes in - incredible miss from Bree at the end summed it up.

Thought we looked poor in the second half. Lacked ideas and finish. Very predictable Bazunu should look like a goalkeeper against us.

Perez did well to prevent that from being a loss.
