What a performance,  Peretz outstanding,  we actually got a lot of blocks in and 3 goals. Bit lucky here and there but who cares. WHU left ground at 80 mins so they must of seen a superior Saints on the pitch. Stewards were complete idiots as we waited 20 mins to get passed check before they decided my son couldn't take his flag in which had Kevin can I have you shirt please,  in German. The idiot stewards thought it was some political statement.  Even WHU told them to fuck off and let the flag in.

Had same issue at Preston with flag saying Israel number 1 with picture of Peretz,  eventually got it in as senior steward could actually read and them dont be stupid that can go in.

Credit to our fans today. I was sat halfway line and you were loud and outside the ground after.

I probably had the best view of our goals and some top goalkeeping from Dan The Man! But so difficult not to react how i wanted to.

Agree with others that Leo needs to raise his game a long way because he is normally our best player and we can't afford to have him putting in these weak performances.

Totally! It’s not just that he’s lost his edge offensively, it’s also that he’s a half-assed backtracker. We can handle Manning’s preoccupation with offence OR Leo’s slowness getting back, but not BOTH at the same time. We dodged quite a few bullets against Pomp*y until Tonda put Matsuki on that side.

I can see why Tonda dropped him recently tbh. Some of his lazy play was shocking today.

Fortunately we have Matsuki who is turning out to be quite the unexpected fox in the box: Scienza beats his two markers and then shins it towards their goalie - Matsuki scores on the rebound - jobs a good'un 😉

His defensive work rate has really dropped off this season. To me he just doesn't seem the same in general. Wonder if he's still peeved off about not being in the prem.

Maybe he is distracted by newly married life? Does he have a nipper?

KWP was outstanding today, as was Bree for that matter - a great day for both RBs.    Appreciated KWP' muted goal celebration, he will always be a favourite former Saint.

KWP was great going forward bu couldn't defend for shit

is this re Scienza? The same bloke who tracked back about two-thirds the length of the pitch to make a tackle recently (Bristol City I think).

Agree he hasn’t reached the same heights as last season but see a combination of being ‘found out’ to some degree and hacked by opposition as well. Think he’ll pick up again

He set a very high bar, it’s unfortunate but his finishing has been lacking this season and he’s been pretty wasteful with the ball. Put us in the shit a few times today when he just needed to hold onto the ball or hoof it long to let us get out. But yeah he’ll be fine

In the lead up to one of our goals today, it was his smart run and shot that set up the rebounds for the finish. I was happy with a key contribution, and a clever run when we had no Larin in the box.

I know he was poor today but still heavily involved in the first two goals.

I’m getting very worried about Tom Fellows - young and a real potential, but seems out of favour. I thought his runs and crosses last season were very good, finishing a bit off, but contributed a lot.

Id like to see him recycled back into the lineup - a longer term prospect.

He was the most fouled player in the league last year so he can’t use that excuse.

He’s been average at best this season. He rarely runs at anyone or takes his man on any more.

I can tolerate him not tracking back if we see that player that was a joy to watch last season.

Agree but I’m sure Tonda will bring him back into the fray. Would be best with a real CF for him to work with though, and someone in the penalty area to float crosses towards.

Lovely smile from Prowsey as he tactfully answered how he felt winning against the manager who didn't rate him at two clubs.

I also had high hopes for Tom but he has been a major disappointment. Even when he gets his chance on the pitch he doesn't take it and that is a shame because he has the ability. Unless he finds some motivation from somewhere it might be worth considering moving him on. I thought he'd become one of our most influential players but it just hasn't happened for him and we can't carry passengers in what is a small squad.

Daniel Peretz what a star. Bloody SR.

Yeah, pat on the back to SR for only taking 5 years to realise we needed to sign a decent keeper... ;)

Very chuffed for Breezy today - he'd have been more disappointed than anyone at missing that big chance against Bolton but he made amends today as he lashed in another worldy today to help the side to a brilliant win

Peretz was sensational today 😊

Got to say, you're so far from the pitch, it's difficult to see just how good his saves were today but some of them seemed brilliant. Just needs to spend an hour or two practising his distribution.

Really pleased for Dobbin. He's got this knack of receiving a ball and then turning quickly with it and leaving the marking defender two yards behind him.

And Jack S has been great since taking over from Wood.

Happy days!

I managed to get a ticket but in with the West Ham fans today, jeez that was difficult keeping quiet!

Most near me seemed to thing they were greatly wronged by the ref who gave us everything and them nothing, actually from what I saw the ref was pretty bang on fair today.

i was in the diagonal opposite corner to Saints fans and I can tell you that Saints were louder the the home fans too…what a day!

Yesssssss!

Fantastic win Saints!!!

Happy birthday to me! 53!

Thanks Saints!!!

I’m sat here looking at a Wellington Imperial Stout, a Nickel Brook Head Stock, a Great Lakes Hazemama and a GL Pompous Ass and pondering which one to open first to toast the win and your birthday.  All in all, a day to remember.

And to recall that West Ham have not beaten us at home outside the top flight since 1952, when I was just a nipper and too young to have realised our last such loss in London, where I was then living.

Bring on QPR.  Let’s smash Ronnie and his mates.

A couple of my mates were sat there too and said the same thing about them complaining about the ref all the time.

You could tell who the Saints fans were over there - they were the only ones left after 80 minutes!

Southampton 2 November 2025 Present 54 33 12 9 61.1

That's Tonda's record since joining us (according to Wiki anyway) including cup games. Nearly a year has passed and we have only lost 9 games (and be damned with Spygate which, whilst still shouldn't have happened, probably didn't influence things as much as was being made out) and 2 of those losses were the cup defeats to Man City and West Ham.

That is some record even at this level.

Today's result was excellent and much needed to prove we can do it away from home as much as at SMS, but keep this first team fit as long as possible and we should easily be up there at the end of the season but it's encouraging to know that Dobbin showed some class today when he's been a squad player for us so far. Today proved we can cut it with the bigger boys of the League. QPR will be tough next and a different challenge against an in form team.

One month and 3 days until the big grudge match vs Boro! Two months for Spors to find us the gem or two in the January window that elevates us even further for the second half of the season.

Noticed that Roerslev was on the bench today, first appearance this season, at least in the league, might be able to at least give Bree the occasional few minutes break now.

I think missing 2 pretty easy chances in which the rebounds were buried , aren’t my definition of “instrumental “. Fact is, he should of walked off with 2 goals, and he also kept giving the ball away when it was important we kept hold of it

Some of the commentators on Claret and Booze are losing their minds over today's result.  I thought that the numpties on Arsenal TV were away with the fairies but this lot give them a run for their money.

According to this guy, every single team in the championship is shyte and west spam should be beating everybody 6 nil.  Comedy gold.

I think with Leo we have to accept that, as with with any player, we can only ever choose two out of three:

  • He’s that good
  • He consistently plays at his best
  • He’s willing to play for Southampton in the Championship

Leo is 1 and 3. I’d rather have him that not because on the days when it goes right for him he wins us games and no defence in this division can cope with him.

First guy is a heart attack in waiting. I don't get this monologue ranting stuff, it's odd.

A decent podcast with a few people works, it's engaging and it's not a weird echo chamber. Who watches this stuff? It's stressful and crap.
