Sorry if I had been treated this badly I would be out the door looking for my next/last club..I wouldn't want to play for Wotte who has messed me about and particularly in a non match....Sorry not even for the supporters...I have seen what some are like on here. Mind you I have not never would be in a position to make this decision. No I would have no loyalty to the peeps who have behaved the way they have. dubai_phil Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Well there is no way a club in L1 could afford to pay so much money a week for the "possibility" that he MIGHT deliver IF he got his head right or IF we got a different coach. Shame, will go down as another waste of talent/investment by the old regimes, but he goes out should afford 3 in let's hope one of them knows how to score regularly for a change rather than simply being a Brett Omerod impression - 110% effort not enough goals

OldNick Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 from my standpoint that is good management from Wotte. If they dont like it they may as well p### off. They were part of the failure and Saga didnt look like scoring in the last part of the season.he wants to get a good last payday and if we folded and he was a free agent all the better for him ps If Wotte has the go ahead to do this can it mean that he has had permission from somebody who is taking over to do so? I wonder who that might be...only kidding

Wiltshire Saint Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 I don't understand the mentality of some of the posters on here. Some of these comments are ridiculous. No reason to behave like a child himself because of others. Why is this behaving like a child? Is he not entitled to make a point? When things do not go your way do you pack up and take your ball home leaving your mates bemused at your actions? What a stupid thing to say. He is someone who is empoyed by a company to play football. His employer may well go bust, if he is still empliyed he would be playing in the third tier of English football which would almost guarantee him never being selected for Poland again and that would come befire all of his "mates" (the correct term is work colleagues). BS proved hes only in it for the money there. Oh my god!! You mean he has migrated here to take up a job for money??!! Who the f*ck who do that? What a complete w*nker he must be. This is by far THE most stupid comment on this thread and maybe the most stupidest on the whole of the internet. If you are of employable agae (which is on doubt) or able to hold down a job (which is in doubt) can you explain why people go to work? I shall use myself as an example. I go to work to get paid and no other reason. I imagine most people are the same. The bloke is leaving. It;s hardly surprising and certainly not something he should be blamed or vilified for. Good luck to him and I hope we get some decent money for the fella.

Bailey Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 No complaints really. Saga has aspirations of playing for Poland in the World Cup, and if he's playing in League One then that's unlikely to happen. On top of that, we can't afford Saga's wages anyway, especially if we're planning for life in League One. He's been poorly treated by the club all season, and you can't really blame him for asking to leave. If anything, I'm surprised he hasn't asked to go sooner! Saga has been very good for us on the whole, and despite what others have said, he's a good player. Will never forget his hat-trick at Wolves! I wish him all the best in the future. Is he not entitled to make a point? Why is it ridiculous? If you are a professional contracted to the club, you either submit a transfer request or get on with the situation at hand. Smirking_Saint Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 TBF, league 1 football is quite a drop. He tried, he failed. Although i feel alot of the reasons for him not scoring was the fact that our delivery this season has been woeful, he has hardly had a hat ful of chances. Given the chances Euell squandered i feel he would have buried them. Thanks for the effort Saga, TBO i don't blame you for wanting to get out of the saints merry go round, lets just all hope for some stability soon. um pahars Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Strange one all round and someone who suffered from playng under 4 different mangers in 2 years (that's excluding Wise, Bassett, Gorman & Dodd!!!). Came here and played well during his initial loan, only to be treated with disdain at the start of the following season by the same manager (Burley) who had made his move permanent !!!!! Never seemed to recover and John became the star man. Then the following summer was frozen out by the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up and loaned out. Comes back and IMHO not used/motivated well by Wotte. I'm sure Saga's attitude and commitment can be doubted, but the circumstances he has had to put with haven't helped (not that they have helped many to be honest!!!). rallyboy Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 didn't deliver regularly enough for an international striker on big money, so there is no reason to believe he would be more motivated in a lower league, his heart isn't in it. I would have thought a player with pride might want to go out with a bang for the fans and to show the coach what he is missing but if he would rather slip out sulking with his bottom lip quivering, that's the best way to show the Poland coach exactly what you are made of. We need players for the trenches now, have him and Skacel dig two graves and shoot them. Send the next one in.....
Mr X Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 Good riddance. He was only any good whilst trying to secure a contract. Spot on. Saganowski obviously has the ability but will only use it when it suits him. Everyone should be honest and admit hes looked totally average at best in the championship. Why didn't he channel all that energy in to performing on the pitch that would have answered his critics instead of mouthing off to the media? That said i wish him well, at least its a high earner off the list

benjii Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 A few points: 1) I like the way Wotte is planning for next season - tad optimistic methinks! 2) Have we learnt nothing? Do we really want to be paying players the best part of £10k per week in League One? 3) I wouldn't want to play in League One either if I was him - he is much better than that and our shocking last couple of seasons are not in any way his fault. Arizona Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 I think Saga, like Surman, only produces his best form when the team around him is playing well. Unfortunately we aren't and therefore they aren't. Not surprised he's leaving. If I were an experienced international with World Cup aspiratios, I wouldn't be happy sat on the bench of a Division 3 club. Don't know what everyone is getting on their high horse about. It's nothing we didn't know already, other than Wotte leaving him out tomorrow. Nobody else will be here next season, if they get a decent offer. Thankyou Marek. In between the barren spells, there have been some fantastic goals, and he got us back into the playoffs almost single handedly in the second half of 2006/7. A lack of effort was never his problem, even when things weren't going his way.

derry Posted 2 May, 2009 Share Posted 2 May, 2009 The club is full of fragile lightweight players, whose football ability is questionable. The club needs a clearout. Management and players. We need senior players in their thirties who are fit and have reasonable ability with bags of guts and character. A couple of proper player coaches who are looking to move into management. I would cash in on Lallana and Surman, maybe McGoldrick and look to swop them for what we really need, goalscorers. We should have scouts at all the Eircom games this summer, there are definitely players there we could use.
