Great change when pegged back...well done Nigel Adkins. Walsall and Colchester next - let's hope for 6 more points on the board!

Peterboro look more and more of a threat and Bmf keep proving everyone wrong ! Could be the case, however Peterboro and Udders still have to play each other and we've got Bournemouth so results could still very much go our way.I am still tipping us for 2nd. Lallana's Left Peg Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Good win, bogey team dispatched to oblivion. Still, I dont like how we lose control of a game so easily. It happens - it's hard and rare to control a game for 100% of the time. Very few teams in the world are capable of it. I'm very happy with the way we reacted to their equaliser and the way the game was seen out, which is professional of the Manager and players. Thedelldays Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Good win, bogey team dispatched to oblivion. Still, I dont like how we lose control of a game so easily. Swindon Are 4th top away scorers. They are always going to cause a few problems with that stat behind them. It sounded like we completely out played them for at least 75-80 mins ANS could have had a couple more
bender Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Hudders and Posh are only a point off us and we have 2 games in hand on both of them. Jimmy_D Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Whew. Thought we'd thrown it away after they equalized but we responded brilliantly and played some of our best football of the season after our second and third goals. Not a bad set of results for us elsewhere either, if we beat Bournemouth we only need one win out of three games in hand to go second.
SuperSAINT Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Great win today, lads. Won't be too many weekends when we'll make up +3 points on Brighton. Bench sounded really strong at the start of play, and seemed to make a real impact on the game. Bournemouth result was unfortunate, but a 10 man Orient did us a BIG favour at Huddersfield. Baird of the land Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Agree i would like to see Barnard get a run of starts. Nice to see Adkins making some effective substitutions today. Had mixed emotions regarding L.Orient late equaliser. Good for Saints, bad for my bank balance as i bet on Huddesfield to win. Interesting to see how Brighton respond to that loss too. Saint_Ash Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 lolz at sad acts whinging about us when we concede a goal "Adkins being found out" blah blah blah. When anyone dare complain to Dune about what he says he whinges about cherry picking his comments, how about not cheery picking parts of the game that suit your agenda to whinge about Adkins and wait for the whole 90 minutes to be played. 4-1, excellent result! Saint Charlie Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Good subs from Adkins, Morgan especially changed the game. Chaplow gets forward well but we missed Morgan's passing range and composure. Barnard made great runs when he came on and both he and Morgan should start vs Walsall IMO. Lambert links so well with Lallana, who is a real threat when he moves inside. Chamberlain's best game for ages and for once the ref was quite good and let the game flow. S-Clarke Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 We started well, tailed off in the middle and ended the game brilliantly - as well as we have played for a long time. Barnard made a real difference when he came on, Guly for all his effort and chasing seems to lack any sort of ability some days. A really odd player, blows hot and cold...thought we would start to see some consistency from him! I agree with comments about Morgan - our midfield in the first half was a bit wild and flying all over the place, we didn't have that guile and composure which is why we couldn't control it. Morgan came on and we suddenly passed it and retained the ball much better - no coincidence. Overall, great win - great last 30mins and some handy results for us this weekend (Not forgetting Charltons loss last night). ...will Bournemouth just quit winning though? They were without their ''3'' best players today apparently.

Papa Shango Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 First half was only ok, second half very good. Lallana, Chamberlain, Schneiderlin, Barnard and Hammond all very good. Hopefully that'll silence a few of the doom and gloom merchants who were around after the Hartlepool game. Bring on Walsall now.
Leicestersaint Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Delighted as this had banana skin written over it. Looks like Schneiderlin amde a difference when eh came on. Nexstar Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Great day for us, especially with Hudders and Brighton dropping points. We started the game well and pressed early on, having scored and hit the post twice we slowed towards the end of the half, but looked comfortable. Second half we came out with the same, slow, pace and Swindon got in our faces and played a bit of nice football. They had us rattled and scored. Adkins then immediately changed it with two subs and it made the difference. Two nice goals inside 90 seconds and we were a different side. Guly didn't seem at the races today, but it's good to know when a player has an off day we have the strength in depth (and Adkins has the knowledge) to change the game on it's head. Very pleasing

Toomer Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Great result today, shame the ref & his assistant missed the foul on Lambert just before Swindon scored when the defender climbed all over him. We have just got to keep wiining our games and not worry about the other sides, what will be will be, Tuesday is a big game as it is one of our games in hand. Hopkins Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 Didn't think we lost control of the game at all really. They had a 5 minute spell after the goal where they had their tails up and we defended well and rode the storm to get control again. Think obviously Morgan helped with that. His pass won the free kick that led to the first goal. Barnard was good when he came on but I'm not sure I agree Guly didn't play well. Thought his touch and link up play was good, he's missed a couple of chances but that will happen. He seemed to pick up an injury which helped lead to the sub. Barney was good when he came on. Chased down everything and unlike Guly he stretched the game by looking to run beyond the defenders. Which was ideal at the time because they were obviously looking to attack, so the goals and subs were perfect timing really. Chambo was poor imo. He got better 2nd half, but first his touch was poor as was his decision making. He got better when the game opened up slightly in the 2nd half. All in all though, fully in control, passed it nice and quickly at times, good reaction to a good goal by Swindon, 3 points gained on Brighton and still in full control of our own destiny. Roger Posted 26 February, 2011 Share Posted 26 February, 2011 We were pants at posh, couldnt hold ball, same vs carlisle. Morgan changed game today, he is class. Chaplow and hammond together doesnt work imo, they havent got the technical ability to hold the ball and pass it. One of them with morgan, but morgan should be first one on teamsheet. I thought jaidi was absolutely awesome. Thats the second home game in a row that he has been magnificent. If only he was 5 years younger. Ricky was v good today, didnt work that hard but with the ball was excellent. Created first goal, set up gulys post shot, scored next one and nearly had a load others, hes class. Was the old ricky second half, lallana good and so was barnard when he came on. Marks: Davis 6-Beaten at near post. Butterfield 6 Jaidi 9 Fonte 6 Harding 6 AOC 7 Hammond 5 Chaplow 5 Lallana 7 Ricky 8 Guly 5 Subs Morgan and barnard
