What does Jones do ? Freak goal, we have played ok and created chances.

That's fine but we need someone who can quickly instill mental strength somehow, as soon as we concede we look like we give up

We were also the first? Football club in England to have an eye gym which has now been used by numerous premier league clubs.

In a lot of ways we were really ahead of the curve at the time but we didn’t have the financial clout or strong leadership for it to actually matter.

And yet we've still had more shots on and off target than Fulham.

JWP muttering and swearing to himself while heading off.

The team need to be better mentally. Miss a chance, let it go, stay focused, make a mistake, let it go.

Ever since the goal Saints have thrown the towel in "luck is against us, why bother". Reset, get fucking stuck in and your can turn it around. Not this headcase team, they're beaten already.

Pretty happy with the perofrmance. ABK and Lyanco looking good at the back.

We've been much more aggressive.

We just didn't take our chances. Adams & Edozie with lack of clinicalness and salisu with an awful header.

Their goal, i do wonder about Bazanu on crosses. Is he too deep as didn't get  there like last week. The corner, just poor not to mark the guy on the edge of the box and then an unlucky deflection on a shot going wide(when you need a bit of luck to go your way)

Hopefully we can come out fast after the break and get the equaliser.

Whether Saints concede a lucky deflected goal or a brilliant strike that breaks the net it doesn't matter. Our big, big problem is in converting chances to goals. It's been that way for a long time now and this game will likely pan out in just the same way as all those that preceded in 2022.

Can one individual do that? Isn't it more of a team ethos and spirit sort of thing that is developed throughout the changing room to the training ground? I guess that comes from the types of characters we have across the squad.

Certainly not a quick fix or solvable with one new player.

We're shit.

We don't have anyone who is a quality finisher (maybe Stuart Armstrong), we have no central midfield.

We've got our best right back at left back. We've got a slow, technical, poor quality winger in central midfield.

Aribo was a pointless signing.

Edozie is good but we are reliant on him, which is wrong.

We're screwed.

Like some of the Ralph games, it's down to an error that leads to a gola we can't come back from. In this case, not shutting down that corner far sooner. AMN allowed the ball to fizz in to give the corner in the first place, but even so we should have dealt with it better.

When Fulham have got in behind us, the 3 at the back has done it's job. Mitrovic is going to spend the afternoon falling over at the slightest touch.

At the other end. Che is very isolated. Edozie isn;t getting in behind, in the way Fulham can. On the other side, Aribo held the ball up well a couple of times, but hasn;t offered much else. Should Jones opt to be mroe direct, there's noone close to Che for him to bring into the game.

Despie having to fashion most of his chances, Che has had a couple of opportunities. He does the right things, but just does them too slowly. That split second is the difference between it going in and the keeper blocking.

Salisu should have done a lot better from a JWP corner too.

We've not really offered much once they went ahead. I hope Jones can turn it round in a way that Ralph could not. It will be interesitng to see how we react to this.

Well it's better than Brighton.

Look promising for a while. Bazumu fluffed his clearance straight to a Fulham player in space. Panic stations loss of composure and a freak goal gives them the lead.

Aribo is AWL he is exposing AMN who looks up for it today.

Not out of the game yet but midfield weaknesses are giving them room to attack.

Let’s hope Nate works his famed motivational magic during the break

According to Tanswell @the athletic the club “have decided over the Christmas period to do pre match pressers after the game before that will be unpublished and the quotes embargoed”

now why would they do that? Is a definite change from the Ralph days. To protect NJ? To reduce transparency? I don’t think it bodes well.

Yeah i don't really get Aribo as a wide mid. He seems unsuited to it for me. Hopefully we get S.Armstrong on for him.

Pretty messy, but there's something there for us today. Fulham haven't been very special. Scored with their only shot. Adams has missed a sitter - of course - and Elyounoussi scandalously refused to play in a clean through Aribo and instead take a speculative shot. We should have two goals to our name.

Don't look like much of a team, and our play is totally incoherent, but we're in this game.

New guy is in but we still have the same captain and Salisu still taking throw ins. Oh and we're still shit.

But we have no better captain, and why would anyone expect Jones to lose the players within a day of coming in by removing the captaincy from our supposed 'best player'
