Boruc arriving on a free turned us from relegation fodder into a mid table team. Niemi took us up a step from Paul Jones and this season we’ll talk about night and day. This isn't to discredit Pertez in any way, as I love the bloke, but we're not even talking about the difference between an average GK and a top quality goalkeeper here. It's simply the difference between having no goalkeeper and an actual goal keeper. 5

He already has 22 caps for Ireland where he’s kept MANY clean sheets. Played in the premier league, highly experienced in the championship where he’s has won a promotion plus experience of a European league he’d be a truly fantastic signing for someone 1 3

Interesting fact, CHRISTIANO RONALDO has scored more international penalties than any other player ever. It's fortunate for everyone that Ireland FAILED to qualify for the world cup and Baz's talents can continue under the radar for now, shame for Baz though that he wont be able to demonstrate his awesome play out from the back in front of the watching world
Lord Duckhunter Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Fucking hell, just seen a reply of the save at the end of last nights game. Safe to say that had Baz been in nets, Ipswich would be a premier league side today… 3

SaintsBarry74 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 In terms of goals prevented, Baz is bottom again for the fourth season running, although there is some improvement. Even though he is still the worst keeper in the league, this is actually his best season statistically, as he has conceded fewer goals than expected compared to previous years. His long pass completion% and crosses claimed are also bottom of the league. I’m not sure why some people here dismiss the stats. This is an unprecedented level of sustained underperformance in professional football.

We shouldn't have sent him out on loan, we could have just sent him out as the spy instead. One way to have got rid of him. Small enough to be hidden behind a tree, he may have dropped the IPhone though. 1

The 24 year old will be out of contract at the end of the season and while Southampton will likely only receive a fraction of the €12 million they paid Manchester City for Bazunu’s services four years ago, he would represent a decent saving on the wage budget should they be able to move him on. 3
