Hoping we can get another victory on the road today - 3-1 to us - Scienza, Adam Armstrong and Fellows to score - COYR 😊

Sigh. A back 5 again.

Fellows as full back?

What happened to Sesay? He looked good in pre season, unless its contract related.

Best of luck to Bragg but it looks to me like Eckert has done this for brownie points.

Is he better than Flynn Downes or Joe Aribo?  I very much doubt it.  Charlton will murder us in the middle of the pitch.

Alfie House suggests that Downes is being conserved for Leicester.

Bragg didn’t look ready away at Blackburn off the bench. We have Downes and Aribo sitting on the bench, why not pick one?!

I’m a bit concerned about CM, down to 6th choice due to injuries/match fitness?

Let's say Eckert has a particular way of playing.

Bragg has been playing that way since then beginning of the season in the u21s.

It may be just that he knows what Eckert wants the role to be better.

Baz in goal still. 😕😕

Complete joke but no surprise - he’s come back into the side with no justification and been a pile of nervous, flapping shit responsible for two goals, yet keeps his place.

Downes I can only assume has a fitness issue, which limits him to not being able to start today and Tuesday. Aribo looked well off the pace in his 20 minutes against QPR, no surprise he's not starting.

What is it about that team that makes him a c**t, or is this just hysteria for the sake of it?

I'm inclined to go with the hysteria for the sake of it.

Eckhart sees the players in training every day, we do not! He obviously trusts the players he has selected to start. He has earned the right to choose his team, lets wait till full time before slating him.

The cnt bit is ott but the following frustrates people :

Baz in goal

Five at the back

Stephen’s at CB and captain

The lack of numbers and physicality in CM

short guy up front on his own

it looks like an unbalanced team less than the sum of its parts

You’d think Aribo would be getting up to match fitness having been in and around the squad for a while, we’ve just had 2 weeks to prepare and we still can’t rely on our highest paid player? I’d rather have an off the pace Aribo than an academy player that’s not ready, this isn’t the sort of game to throw him into.

i get the caution with Downes and Romeu but Aribo needs to start being used, when we haven’t during availability crisis we have dropped points unnecessarily e.g. Watford and Blackburn.

Aribo is not the answer. Why is everyone pining after him?

I wouldn't be so certain on that. Tonda sees the players training, not me, but from what I saw against QPR Aribo would be a liability. I know he doesn't want to be here but his lack of fitness and effort really was unprofessional.

Played 2, won 2 and it's "sack the expletive".  Can't see that we've been overwhelmed with candidates for the post, not even any of the usual suspects.  So why are you so ready to jump of a cliff while the tide is out?

First start for Bragg, good luck to him

Very lightweight in midfield. Assume fellows will be in this weird hybrid wing back role. Armstrong up front as centre forward the mandated 3 centre backs with Baz in goal, what’s not to like! Come on Rasmus FC

Surely there's an attitude thing afoot too? I'd be surprised if he's still here in February.

Despite intensive coaching and mentoring, he steadfastly refuses to pass the fucking ball forwards!

It has to be, he seems to have had “fitness concerns” every week for a year. Either he’s one of the most unlucky or unhealthy players in history or he’s a complete bellend. As a player he should be one of the best in his position in the league but Bragg picked over him shows how he’s viewed. When Romeu is fit he’ll be 5th choice in centre mid

Has anyone checked whether anyone in the Charlton match-day squad has long hair?  If so then there's a 70% chance that Stephens will get red-carded for hair-pulling, the big girl's blouse.

I didn’t think we would win this but hat line up is starting to convince me. All the opposition needs to do is attack down our right and shoot on sight. Mind you it could be the same on the left with Mr “I have no idea how to defend” manning on the pitch.

I really dont mean to offend anyone, but why the surprise at the line up ? That crock of shit was exactly what I was expecting. Its not like he's given any type of hint that he'd do anything other than that.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you live off jellied eels and Stella Artois, it's hard to give of your best.

Of course he's going to pick his U21 mates, no brainer. He knows this guy, so he'll pick him.

But a half fit Downes or a half fit Aribo is a better option than Bragg, we all know it. He'll be plying his trade in L1/L2 in a year (probably with us to be fair)

Harsh, hasn't he only made one sub appearance for us? Bit early to write him off.

Joke goalkeeper,

Weak midfield will be bullied

Stephens the ball watcher

What a spectacle to look forward to

I thought he was a left winger.

Not writing him off at all, that's just the reason he's been parachuted in - Eckert knows him and trusts him. In ahead of experience is the strange call though, as we have very little experience.

He's not a wonderkid though. He's 21 years old, he's not a kid and his loans at a lower level have been pretty low-par. We're not dealing with an Ox, Dibling, Bale style prodigy here. Just a bog standard lower league player.

There are a couple of other kids in the U21's who play with bragg - Whitmarsh and Romeo, both purchased from Ireland with big fanfare for around £1m. Why not use those?

At least Eckert has the balls to drop FD, just needs to drop Manning and Stephens too.

A big risk if he is auditioning for the job. Perhaps we are expecting no midfield from them and just long ball.

I just hope we can get a decent result but Im disappointrd that Downes is not playing as he has a bit of steel
