8 hours left before the window slams shut. No other names have been mentioned, so it's fair to assume it's Larin or no-one.

Close the door quietly behind you, please!

Who knows. Maybe fellows, scienza, and azaz will feed the donkey... Tbh I am more concerned that we have no cover for those 3 than the main striker. At least AA could have filled in on the wing - looks like are only plan for that is to rehabilitate edozie, which we're only doing because no one else wants him and we basically can't give him away 🤣

Robinson started the season pretty well, so he isn't the worst guy to have in reserve. Matsuki is an option in the middle as well as Charles - although Im not sure the latter can offer what Azaz does. Edozie should have been an option the minute his deal fell through. There is no reason why he can't offer something from the bench assuming his fitness/head are right.

Here we go!!

They have done well to get that deal through especially as he has missed the last four games through injury.

They have - Verona don’t tend to go that big on deals and I think if you can ship an unwanted player out permanently, it’s always a winner.

What a window this has been 🙄

Greatest era window in our history.

I would say they’ve done a decent job of chipping away at the deadwood….

It’s still crazy though, once Aribo goes, we will still have FIFTEEN players out on loan.

Could be, feels a better result for us too

4 hours left of deadline day. Plus any deal sheets. I can't wait. 😏

At least we have seemingly upgraded the GK position, although it is still quite early to tell. 7 points from 9. Bree back and playing. Charles fit again. Ross has managed not to get injured in a few weeks...

...I'm really looking for the positives here.

Stops them signing Che Adams as well apparently.  They are clearly lining up Ralph as next manager

I'm not happy about the AA out / donkey in transfer, but apart from that, I can't grumble about the players out. We are very light up top though.

Don Cortese could put a good word in for us / a well placed horse's head.

According to SSPN Wrexham are after 2 strikers, one from Barnsley who has scored 16 goals this season and one from Sheff Wednesday. They seem to have made some good decisions on recruitment during their journey up the leagues, whether these are or not remains to be seen if they do go through.

Kalvin Phillips to Sheffield United on loan

I was only wondering what happened to him.
Could be a good signing if he regains his Leeds form

And they've already got Moore and Broadhead upfront.

This is even better 🙂

Wrexham are pushing to get a deal done for Portsmouth defender Terry Devlin before the close of the window. #WxmAFC #Pompey #DeadlineDay

It just seems that SR are focused on clearing the decks as much as they can with many transfers out.

Now (very much later than expected) the big man up front is confirmed to be the way to play, Still must be annoyed when it was clear Downs ability was not up to the standard and with Stewart in and out of medical care.

Larin would be data driven choice, he seems to be motivated to enhance his chances to play In the World Cup this summer, hasn’t been able to deliver in Holland with his short cameos this season and wasn’t good in Spain, hence the loan.
Question, is he ok at championship level playing to his supposed strengths? He does comes across as the cheap option and reinforces the season is over from SR.
What is a worry is the summer recruitment, will it be Spors or the data taking the lead?

They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had. And add some extra, just for you.

they don't watch anyone anymore, that much is evident by the last useless striker they signed!

Is there any evidence that data is taking the lead?

Other than that window where Rasmus took charge, all evidence would suggest that the DOF in place hand picked the majority of the targets.

As an example;

Summer 22/23 - DOF Joe Shiels (previous role at City) - Lavia, Bazunu, Larios, Edozie all signed from City.

Season 23/24 - DOF Jason Wilcox (previous role at City) - Shea Charles, THB, David Brooks all had links with city. Flynn Downes, Ryan Manning & ryan Fraser all had links to Russell Martin.

This season - DOF Johannas Spors (previous experience in Germany) - Leo Scenzia, Downs, Jander, Peretz, Quarshie all from Germany. Azaz, Fellow both stand outs and obvious deals for teams in this leauge.

Of course there may have (infact almost certainly would have) been some 'data lead' transfers, but I don't think there is any evidence at all that the data is taking the lead.

They dug out an excel spreadsheet from 2022 and looked at it!

Why do people keep saying this? 😂 I’d say given his data has a predominantly average scoring record it’s about as far from data driven you could get. It’s quite obviously driven by his physical traits and opportunity.

We look very light out wide as well. If Scienza or Fellows get injured our only other genuine wide option is Robinson who has been pretty poor this season when given the chance.

This is of course providing we don't see Edozie this season.

Aren't all signings data driven? Unless we are literally lobbing darts at a giant transfer dart board (which tbf wouldn't be the biggest surprise.)

AA wasn’t a this season buy for Wolves, it could easily still be on

If they still buy him now, it has to work within their PSR budget though, which obviously will be impacted massively if they don't sell Larsen.

Aribo was incredibly poor/lazy when given the chance this season.

Apart from doing well 2 years ago at this level, in general he's been crap for us.
