Best Saints goal you have ever seen live?

After seeing Shea Charles' worldie at SMS yesterday, I was wondering how it compared to other great goals.

So what is the best Saints goal you have ever seen?  I was at the Dell for the Liverpool game in 1982 and saw Channon's goal at the end of 18 passes.  For me that is the best I have seen.

For me it depends if you’re talking about pure strikes or team goals. I wasn’t at the game yest but it was right up there.

Ricky lamberts half-volley lob from 40 yards sticks in the mind. Ridiculous goal. 

Cuco martina’s curler or Sofiane Boufal’s mazy run are another two that stick out for me. 
 

In terms of team goals, can basically pick any pochettino game. The football we played at times was breathtaking. Jrod/lallana/lambert on the counter in their prime was quality.

The best team goal without doubt the one in the Keegan/Channon era - a thing of beauty.
 

 

Individual MLT against NUFC when he flicks it over two of their defenders and side foots it into the corner (but there are numerous others from him). I class myself as very lucky to have seen most of his as they happened and the team goal above.

MLT scored/ was involved with so many he didn’t surprise any saints fan especially those in junior saints seats

Yes I was there for that one and have to agree. The other team goal that sticks out from years gone by was when we hammered Notts Forest 4-1 at The Dell and Phil Boyer finished off the move. Sadly I can't find it on You Tube.

It wasn’t a Saints goal but one of the best goals and most memorable goals I’ve ever seen live was Kevin Sheedy against us either late 80s or early 90s it was a 1-1 draw at the Dell. sheedy picked up the ball on the right cut inside and put it top corner archers road end from about 30 yards. These were the days when there wasn’t much football on TV or access to goals all around the world so as a kid about 12 or 13 I was awestruck as to the goal.

No question, Le Tiss against Arsenal, last league game at The Dell. Just for pure emotion. He's scored better no doubt, but just for the occasion alone it has to be that one.

Tom Jenkins at West Ham in August 1970. Left six defenders, including Bobby Moore, on their backsides before scoring. Sadly no footage exists. Geoff Hurst equalised through a dodgy penalty

Glad to see the MK goal getting remembered by other people. It often slips under the radar because it was away in League 1 but it really was a cracker. Tiss vs Blackburn - esq in awareness and precision.

I was there too. Fantastic goal. I was also there for MLT v Newcastle another contender.

Plenty of the above. For individual John Barnes v Brazil style, pass it ffs pass it nah keep going my son, Marsden at Ipswich, Kevin Davies at Everton, Boufal at home West Brom 

Celebration wise, Rasiak away at Derby play offs 89th minute took some beating. Obviously didn’t end well but in the context when that went in, bedlam

Probably a bit of recency bias here but Stewart's goal at Bramall Lane earlier this season is right up there with the best I have seen from the stands.

Agree with most of these, seeing Osvaldo and Martina live were pretty special. 
 

Stuart Armstrong against Coventry though, being sat behind the shot and seeing the way that ball moved was pretty incredible.

Has to be Franny Benali against Leicester for me. Picked out by a MLT free kick and I was right behind the header as it powered into the net. A real one-off.

One of the purest strikes from a bicycle kick you’ll ever see.

For me it was one of Le Tiss magic moments, Blackburn away 94/95 season, very few of us up there for that game

Le Tiss last game at The Dell has to be up there for all round meaning, felt like time stood still as it fell to him and celebrations when it went in were off the scale. 

Special mention for Long away to Liverpool semi final, great team move on the break

That Channon one is the ultimate team goal, while Boufal's takes some beating as an individual effort and it was a massive goal in the context of the season.

Martina's was nuts, and a mention for Rothwell's volley against Huddersfield.

Shea's yesterday was special, especially if like me you were fortunate enough to have an angle to see the path of the ball and how much it curled. You could watch it a hundred times, and I probably will.

Another vote for the Arsenal last game one for me. Iconic, summed the man up. Was clearly not really fit, from memory hadn’t scored many that season, sent on as a romantic gesture, just saw a glimmer of an opportunity to write his own headline,  and smashed in an absolute belter. Genius summed up, it’s not just about ability, it’s about producing it at the most dramatic moment.
