Fair point. I would counter though that plenty of coaches get sacked but go on to do well elsewhere. Cooper has previous experience of the league and some proven credentials. I’m not lobbying for him in particular I just recall seeing he was available and he is someone we have been linked with in the past. I don’t recall him being wedded to a specific formation but I can’t guarantee the quality of my memory 😅

I expect unless it’s a massive ban it will be Garner and/or Lallana. If it’s a long ban much harder to say.

I like Ralph and have very fond memories but he was a bit of an ideologue and I don’t see our squad being well suited to his preferred playing style.

If it’s a ban of any kind it’ll be Lallana stepping up for the interim, unless it means Eckhert getting the sack which I’d be very surprised to see happen given the support already shown by the club. Still reckon it’ll be a 3 month touchline ban.

His agent got it into his head that United were after him. Kicked up a fuss only to find out it was West Ham and not Manchester but by that time his bridges were burnt with the management.

I guess that would depend on what TE is found guilty of. If the panel rule that he is responsible for creating a toxic culture where analysts are unduly coerced into deliberate rule-breaking activities then they will have no choice but to sack him.

And without jumping the gun here, IF that turns out to be the case then it will reflect very badly on the club that they didn't investigate internally and take action sooner. Especially in light of the offer in the public statement at the time to work with the FA / EFL and create a task force to eliminate such activity from the game.

Nobody knows , I dont think even the FA are sure what to do with lack of precedent for them to use

No point FA setting a harsh punishment as a precedent as this is never going to happen again. No club will be as stupid as Saints to try to get away with it.

Apart from the person who reckoned they knew and got all upset when some questioned them.

Like you say, It’s obviously not a clear case in regards to the punishment that’s going to be handed out.

can't say i agree with you there. There is no way a decision would not have leaked by now. It was muted over a week ago that the decision would more than likely be announced towards the end of the International break.

And he was demanding a bigger, longer contract than he already had, Reed and him feel out and it ended up with us selling him and thinking Jack Stephens and Yoshida were adequate replacements.

The thing the FA need to consider if a long ban means we sack eckert is that they are essentially putting the assistant manager and any of Tonda's coaching team under threat as a new manager may want a clean slate. 

Id make it crystal clear that an over reaction by the FA could impact more than just Tonda's job. First out the door would be Will Fucking Salt the spineless wimp.

Shall we try and give the FA the benefit of the doubt for the moment. Maybe they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. There has bern no real precedent created for such a "crime of such magnitude" before and they have to give a severe enough punishment to deter anyone in the future. On the other hand the club, (representing the indivudual concerned) have already been hit hard. They have to try and find an acceptable compromise....a heavy sentence...suspended!

That’s it. Appeal and delay and kick the can down the road for the next two years in the hope that they lose interest. Ordered to then play 2 games behind closed doors as punishment along with a relatively small fine. That’s the way it will go.

You can't hate these people enough. They can't touch City, but they can show they have teeth. 

What a load of shit. Couldn't even find any info on the BBC, its a non story.  

Top of the prem. New manager. New hair cut. Leave them alone.

They'll be a ban of some sort, I think we can be confident of that. The FA won't have the stomach for negative headlines at the moment.

I guess it will be big enough kick in the bollocks, to satisfy Gibbo, and the manager of Cambridge (apparently), but hopefully just an 8 count not a knockout.

One thing is for certain, the FA won't give a flying pig's arse, what the impact is for Saints. All they'll care about is headlines, and whether the punishment will withstand a legal challenge. They have considerably bigger fish to fry with City and FIFA. That may help, as no doubt they'll want closure.

Football has always been a bit corrupt. It’s riddled with it now from top to bottom. And we don’t even know 10% of what goes on. And it involves nearly everyone to one degree or another. How many players are involved in betting fixes on your regular Saturday through their friends and family including betting on number of cards, first player to be carded, number of corners etc. Right through to executives and agents involved in transfers, back handers etc. Hard to imagine all of the refs are clean either. 
 

it’s a nasty thing but we still put our hands in our pockets and go along like the muppets we are. David Batty knew what he was doing when he left the game behind him.

Saints were just the wankers that got caught.

Exactly, anyone could have a good guess that Tonda will get a ban of which some may be suspended. 
 

seeing as the hearing was yesterday again saying the verdict would be announced either today or Monday isn’t exactly hard to guess.

No idea why MB wants to be seen as “ITK” so desperately, they may have been told this but there’s no saying the person who told them wasn’t full of shit as well.
