Patrick Bateman Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Well this is by far the best match so far. Shame it's so late.
HnycS Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Is there a full eleven of current and former Saints at the World Cup? Seen so far Larin, Adams, Gunn any others? 1
HnycS Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Guess Stewart is also in the Scotland squad if he comes on and scores in the last 15 minutes as Larin did, it will be a huge co-incident. Edited 21 hours ago by HnycS Grammar
die Mannyschaft Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Haiti v Scotland is like watching 2 champship teams. Should be 2-1. I thought Scotland would walk this easily.

St. Ciervo Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago So as long as Koeman and Poch can play mid, we have a team.

I thought Scotland would walk this easily. There are never any easy games at the World Cup. Considering our record in the World Cup (NZ / Costa Rica), a result is all that is required. Great take from Che Adams for the goal. Nervous 30 minutes I think Edited 20 hours ago by macca155

SNSUN Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Scotland scrape through and the commentators sound like they're going to ejaculate. It sounded like he said "Scotland have won the World Cup!" - there was probably an "in" after "won" but that's not what it sounded like. 1

The win's the important thing, regardless of how unconvincing. That came from a big deflection in the 28th minute, and a lot of hanging on in that second half. LiberalCommunist Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) There's something rather civilised about watching the WC at 5am. Before the world wakes, and obligations kick in. Edited 17 hours ago by LiberalCommunist 1
Convict Colony Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Aussies doing a great job 2-0 so far, was a cracking 2nd goal as well, turks cannot get past the aussie goalie

Turkey have somehow managed to lose one of the most one sided games I've seen in a while. 1
Convict Colony Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yeah agree but actually enjoyable watching the Aussie fully committed defence and the counter attack for the 2nd goal. To get the win over Turkey the aussies are in a good spot already in this group with Paraguy and US to come 1
SNSUN Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I guess that's probably "shock of the tournament" so far, I had Turkey to beat Australia but there you are. 2

BARCELONASAINT Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Morocco excellent first half, Scotland awful, Australia masterclass at defending 1

BBC news on tv and radio this morning also makes it sound like they’ve won the World Cup not just beaten Haiti by 1 goal in a group match.

Possibly true - not looked into it enough but I guess there may be some team that scrapes 2 draws and still gets into the last 32. Depends how the groups go i guess.

Brazil and Morocco should get a win each v Scots meaning in a play off game.

Depends how the groups go i guess. It’s possible but enormously unlikely. I just had a quick look back through the group stage tables back to WC 2014. There was only one single instance where a third placed team didn’t win any games. In all others 3rd placed had 1 win, and typically 3 or 4 points. Its a hell of a backstop for qualifying, but teams will likely have to at least win 1 game, and perhaps another draw to make sure of going through, or at least a decent goal difference.

benjii Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) There could be a team that goes through / gets knocked out based on yellow and red cards. Also, hilariously, the ultimate tie-breaker is FIFA ranking, which seems mental. Toss a coin would be fairer. How the eight best‑ranked teams finishing third are decided The eight best teams among those ranked third will be determined as follows: greatest number of points obtained in all group matches goal difference resulting from all group matches greatest number of goals scored in all group matches highest team conduct score (players and team officials) relating to the number of yellow and red cards obtained in all group matches the two or more teams still equal on points shall be ranked according to the most recent published edition of the FIFA/Coca‑Cola Men’s World Ranking Edited 10 hours ago by benjii

Lord Duckhunter Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The BBC should be banned from anything to do with football. You can tell the people running it are the type who call it Footy & think birds should be paid the same as blokes. Fucking 1990 has a lot to answer for.
