JRM Posted 3 January, 2023 Posted 3 January, 2023 The strike timetable has been confirmed for the weekend now, still requesting people not to travel but does seem an option from Southampton Central , no engineering work planned now so straight up to Clapham and change. SWR running no trains at all from Portsmouth to London on that route.
Pamplemousse Posted 4 January, 2023 Posted 4 January, 2023 This should be fun... Watch us play an absolute blinder when it doesn't matter.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 4 January, 2023 Posted 4 January, 2023 almost a bye for them, and Everton can look forward to a much needed 3 points the following week. And this is the new manager bounce, how bad are we going to be when that wears off? 1 1
saintant Posted 4 January, 2023 Posted 4 January, 2023 This game has zero importance in the grand scheme of things. We'll lose but it matters not a jot.

Suhari Posted 4 January, 2023 Posted 4 January, 2023 I don't care, sadly. Might give my toenails a trim instead. 2
OttawaSaint Posted 4 January, 2023 Posted 4 January, 2023 (edited) I'm not watching this. 7:30am start here. I'm not putting in the effort if noone else at the club is. Edited 4 January, 2023 by OttawaSaint

It does feel fairly pointless, playing what will probably be our reserves v Palace reserves in a half empty Selhurst Park on a lunchtime ko, we've sold over 3500 tickets though all things considered that's an excellent following. As bad as this will be Man City next Wednesday will be even worse. 1
Saint Garrett Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Only positive to have this game, is it gives Jones a free hit to play a back 4 and try and get something working. Although hopefully he’s sacked by then.
macca155 Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 I've bought a ticket, do I have to go? What a nightmare, we're going to be dumped out of the cups and gift Everton 3 valuable points. I shall have a glorious view of the whole bloody farce.
Killers Knee Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Play the B team, with Selles in charge. No interest in watching the current shower of shite play, or Mad Nate blaming a 3rd party for his shit management. 3

AlexLaw76 Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Another masterclass of 3 CBs hoofing the ball forward to a 5ft 10 striker... Amazing stuff 2
Weston Super Saint Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Can I make a plea? PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO ONE POST ANY LINKS TO STREAMS FOR THIS GAME! Thanks in advance. 11
Pamplemousse Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Of more interest to me will be navigating through London on Saturday morning without encountering any of the wannabe 657 crew on their day out.
JRM Posted 5 January, 2023 Author Posted 5 January, 2023 In some ways would a draw be worse than a defeat? Imagine having to host a replay at an empty St Mary's
saints-cris Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 The only positive of this is it's a loss that won't effect my mood, and makes Jones's position look worse in the process. 1
whelk Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 (edited) Fucking so glad of train strike otherwise would have definitely got ticket Edited 5 January, 2023 by whelk

way down south Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Palace always seem to beat us nowadays anyway so might as well not bother following the match in any way shape or form. Then check the result next morning, while crossing your fingers that it won't be another 9 nil loss. That's what I'm doing nyway.
Saint86 Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Hopefully basically no one attends, time to send that kind of message to SR.

Saint_clark Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 I bet we smash them and only narrowly lose or beat Man City leading to Jones keeping his job and us losing the next league game comfortably.

Hard to tell what sort of line up Jones will pick for this, go strong to try to turn form around or whole changes give other players a go?

To be fair, it's hard to tell what sort of line up he'll pick for Prem games 🤷♀️
warsash saint Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Best pub for away fans? & I guess will they even be open for early game??
SNSUN Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Play the youngsters. Finnigan, Morgan, Payne, Dibling, Ballard, Pearce etc... gives them experience that we'll probably need for next year and... heck... can't be much worse than the senior team. Shame Edwards is long term injured too. Ok maybe not against Palace but I'd certainly be giving them some game time soon... As for Palace they're beatable.... but we'd need to score a goal/s for that to happen...

Pamplemousse Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 An amusing thought about the other FA Cup game Spurs fans will be singing their version of OWTS And 9000 Pompey fans will all be booing it, not realising they're doing us a favour 1

bpsaint Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 I’m hoping for a heavy loss to speed up the sacking of the clueless welsh midget. Come on you Eagles.

It's going to be mentally exhausting if we go on like that every week, wanting to lose so it gets rid of him etc. I think we need to accept that he's not going anywhere today, tomorrow, next week or next month. 1 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 January, 2023 Posted 5 January, 2023 Surely this is an excellent opportunity to blood in all the new signings and score some goals? Oh.

Not if enough fans stand up and make themselves heard whilst the “brains” behind our club allow it to go to shit. We’re the ones suffering here not them.
