Boom, great day. Feared an exodus akin to the admin years following the amateur hour at the end of the season, which also followed a mockery of a season in the Premier League the year before. These two signings show Eckert very much still has a lot of belief in him from the players and while there will be some outgoings, these two loan signings in January elevated us to a higher level and now they're permanent.

Larin occupies centre-backs so well. He's always battling with them and giving them something to think about. We've been used to strikers hiding from a challenge in recent years and Larin definitely doesn't do that. Played a bit drunk Middlesbrough away, but well worth signing on a permanent based on his other appearances. Now to actually take an interest in him during the World Cup. Thought he'd keep his options open and then get links towards Wrexham with their Canadian links and his performance against them away.

It's a Lebanese shawarma, a popular food in Canada. Particularly Ontario.

I'm very happy he's joined us permanently. There was a lot of derision from some when he signed, because his track record wasn't great and on paper it did seem an odd signing. So it was very pleasing to see him prove his doubters wrong and become a key part of our unbeaten run.

I just really hope that he doesn't succumb to the Saganowski effect now that he's signed permanently.

Im just really confused, just the other day a Boro fan was telling me that all our players wanted out and were going to sue the club , this doesn't make any sense

If the £2.5m fee being reported is accurate, then for a known quantity who has just come to a new league, scored in 8 in 16, and shown that he also contributes a lot occupying defenders and holding the ball up for others even if he's not scoring, again that is an amazing bit of business. 

You can't get a decent youth player for £2.5m anymore, let alone a proven 1-in-2 centre forward. 

Hats off to Spors, he's smashing this so far.

Brilliant day, another player who we know can do the business up front and who will hit the ground running on day 1. Larin for me was another key player in our unbeaten run.

Also this may give any waverers food for thought about staying.

A busy day to say the least, I thought we'd have a chance with Larin either way - but to me it feels as if the club are putting all effort into retaining this team, as it worked so well in the second half of last season. 

He was a little bit WTF when he signed, but immediately he added what we haven't had for many years. Pace/Power and a presence up top. No more relying on Adam Armstrong or Archer to hold it up, made so much difference to us.

I think Larin gives us options,  holds ball up well, can run and scores. Useful at corners so another player secured.

Even if there is, they're ours. Important business seeing as the effect they both had on our season. We may lose 3 or 4 jewels but this has definitely made the jewels losses less felt.

Don't hate me, I'm a little bit in the not rating him that highly camp, he seems slow and unmobile but he's scored goals at this level and can hold the ball up so can't ague with that and cheap

He is anything but slow, as demonstrated on several occasions. Being a big guy he does take a bit of time to get up to speed though. I like him but my concern is whether he would be able to play much more than 30 or so games, he does seem to be a bit minor injury prone, and that's why it worked quite well with Stewart, with a similar profile.

Yes, the prime example was his goal against Wrexham. After the initial few strides he built up some pretty impressive steam whilst keeping control of the ball then finishing with a well placed shot. He's not going to be the quickest over a few yards but give him space to run into and he has decent acceleration.

You could argue that he'll be fitter after a World Cup and pre-season training.

No reason he can’t be, but it was definitely a purple patch.

The much more important thing was that he’s a focal point player and allowed the likes of Azaz, Leo, Fellows etc play further up the pitch.

He wasn't match fit when he joined us and got noticeably fitter as the season came to a close. I'm excited to see what he's like having had a full pre season with us.

Which is OK, but he won't be having a full preseason because he 's playing in some Noddy tournament.
