benjii Posted yesterday at 07:07 Posted yesterday at 07:07 In fairness, we're still an attractive option for someone if they sit down with Dragan and he says, you are here for long-term rebuild, you will be heavily backed financially, we will clear out anyone you don't want in the footballing side of things and start afresh. But that doesn't feel like the Sport Republic way. 5
Kenilworthy1959 Posted yesterday at 07:09 Posted yesterday at 07:09 If we want some hope look at Hull who we should be playing. They have got there with a transfer ban 3

Themotherfunky Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Dyche? If the mass player exodus is to be believed, we're going to need to bring in a hard working unit to get through this dark period 1

Two big lads up front and she’ll have an old experienced head in as captain.
Appy Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago The geezer who faked his own death on a canoe must be available
Lymington Saint Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Why do we need a New Manager thread? Might as well keep the old one open perpetually as no manager seems to last more than a few months 2
Willo of Whiteley Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Nathan Jones did a good job keeping Charlton up 👀😂
Badger Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Presumably we have to appoint the man to appoint the manager first … Hope it doesn’t go at the usual summer Saints pace. And no experiments with the third Still brother or someone of that calibre. Fuck sake, this is depressing
Mr Saints Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Absolutely needs to be a big character that the fans can get behind. Not a 32 year old nerd from Europe. Would Dyche take it?

EBS1980 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago obvious options: Liam Rosenior is a SR style apppointment. Did well at Hull and Strasbourg but was never going to succeed at Chelsea. Thomas Frank due to connections to Ankersen but can’t see him dropping down to Championship. Scott Parker knows how to get promoted from the league. some young foreign up and coming manager 1
beatlesaint Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I don’t want Adam fkin Lallana thank you very much 2

Wade Garrett Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If we appoint another fucking hipster like Rosenior that’s me finished. Learn from previous mistakes for fucks sake. 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago They need to pay out on a real manager now. They need to get fans onside and players onside, and also in the door. The most consistent, constant and costly mistake the club makes is this. Five years now. Remember this, when we hired Nathan Jones Villa hired Unai Emery - they just secured Champions League again and won the Europa League. 1

Parker - rather like Big Sam being the rescue act, his continued success in this role will soon end. Can he do it again ? Probably the last option might be our route. But we don’t know who will be selecting, Spors still or another ? 1
SNSUN Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Bring back big Ralph! He can even get another 9 nil loss and it still wouldn't be the most embarrassing thing to happen in 2026.
skintsaint Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If Spors is around it will probably be someone like Dino Toppmoller.
MB Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We would probably go for Scott Parker Would rather Stevie Wonder than that cunt
Pamplemousse Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If Spors stays, and apparently he isn't implicated, then someone from Germany would be my guess.
Forester Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Parker has managed three seasons in championship with three different clubs, and secured promotion on every single occasion. 3
S-Clarke Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Let's be fair, as it stands we are going to really struggle to attract anyone of note. Why would any manager want their name associated with a club who have just been hit with this sanction (no matter how unproportionate it feels). Don't forget that we start next season on minus points, will probably have former staff banned from football and have reprimands all over ourselves, the EFL will watch us like a hawk and pull us for anything. For us to appoint anyone of any level, there would need to be clear and visible structural change across all levels of the club to demonstrate that this is a 'different' machine. There is a hell of a lot of work to get there. Edited 10 hours ago by S-Clarke 1

Pamplemousse Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago It'll be interesting to see who Burnley go for, I imagine we'll be fishing in a very similar pool

welshsaint03 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Top 3 choices for me who are semi realistic - 1. John Eustace 2. Scott Parker 3. Slaven Bilic

There is a hell of a lot of work to get there. I understand that when it’s so raw it might feel like this but when there’s another story to break, World Cup begins and everything dies down it will still be one of the better jobs in the league. 2nd year of a 2 year plan to get back into the PL. Continue to be one of the better squads in the division if you galvanise it properly. Some will leave but you’ll have the opportunity to shape a squad yourself with some key signings and any manager worth his salt would back success even with a minus 4 start. If the rest of the messaging from the club can get the reset right then ambitious managers will be tempted. There's certainly no need for people to be defaulting to their previous unimaginative suggestions again. 1

Wade Garrett Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago THB might stay if we give his father-in-law the job…. 😂

James G Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Spies like us could go for Bielsa. He'll be available after the world cup
Convict Colony Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Honestly no idea it depends on the style they want to go down. Still try for best possible option - maybe another name from Spors promising coaches whose told not to spy this time - upside sees us as a great opportunity not fussed about the noise of spygate. Dont want to risk it and play it safe with a known league name - would be doing us a favour, potentially demand lots and cost a lot.

Interesting shout, yeah i could see this type of appointment, he constantly lost top players (muani, ekitke, marmoush) and had to rebuild but still finished 6th and 3rd in bundesliga in his 2 completed seasons. Should bring his scouts as well Edited 1 hour ago by Convict Colony
saintstowin Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago We're deeply affected and hurt by all this. Our manager-to-be is not. I don't think what has happened will mean someone won't come, unless they wouldn't have considered being with Saints anyway. And quite possibly the freshest of starts, maybe more free reign than would have been the case, and a chance to be the person that moves us on from all this will be attractive. A quick but thoughtful decision (I know, I know) is needed so we can get going. And SR must have this as a priority.
