Ronald Koeman Joins Everton - CONFIRMED

Pretty sure he had to buy out (or Spurs Did!) his remaining contract.

Was it a million or 2?

From memory, the story goes that, after not so secretly meeting with Spurs, Ponch went back to Saints and said he wanted to walk away from the last year of his contract - but not because he had another job lined up.

Saints informed him that he would then be personally liable for £2m in compensation.

A few days later, Spurs made an official approach and paid the compensation.

So the story goes, anyway...

That's the story I heard spurs and poch tried to screw us out of compensation..... At least Everton and Ronald didn't do that.

I heard Poch had break clauses for both sides in his contract , that's why we didn't kick up a fuss about him clearly being tapped up ( I know Ron was but Poch's was not blatant) . Don't know if it's true a Spurs ( alleged,) itk told me. If it was just as easy as paying the last year off, why didn't Everton do the same

Hi Guys :)

Everton fan in peace again. LOL

Just wondered if you could tell me more about how Koeman was hated by your players a bit, and kept going away on hols during the seeson. Why did you still offer him a contract if that was going on? :D

you seem a very cheerful chap, LOLs freely given. here you go;

The problem you might have at Everton is that the bigger the club, the more prima donnas. See Moyes@Manutd as an example of what happens when the dressing room is lost because the players are all nobends. Koeman did well as a big fish in a small pond, but may struggle in the vast ocean that is Everton's great biggedness.

He will definitely have trouble coping with big egos of new signings like Scott Dann.......

Waters & Gilmour were right .........

Money, get away

Get a good job with more pay and you're okay

Money, it's a gas

Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash

New car, caviar, four star daydream

Think I'll buy me a football team

Money, get back

I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack

Money, it's a hit

Don't give me that do goody good bullsh!t

I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set

And I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime

Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie

Money, so they say

Is the root of all evil today

But if you ask for payrise it's no surprise

That they're giving none away

Away, away, way

Away, away, away

For what it's worth I have been told that Erin and Jan are not best pleased with Ron as they both were settled and happy to stay at St Marys. I was also told that he had also lost some of the dressing room due to his arrogant manor.

Steven Davis on Koeman leaving Southampton: "I'm obviously disappointed but we're in a strong position as a club & we'll deal with it."

Wasn't Steve Davis one of the senior pro's the club spoke with when Poch left as well?

(Along with Kelv & Jose?)

Where's all the hate....I thought the players all hated him. Can someone interview Tadic and Mane please..

Because Davis is clearly going to come out and say 'oh, I'm glad he left. I hated him anyway and the board will find someone better than him anyway'.

The players are keeping their counsel on orders of their agents in case Ron Konman comes back with whopping big fat juicy contracts to poach them for his new love Everton. It's the way of the world.

That's because he was then, and is now, a senior pro at the club. Also, he's going to be interviewed once or twice over the next week or so.

Are you you this unpleasant face to face with people or just on the Internet? If you didn't like the post, why not just ignore it?

Apparently the new Everton owner wanted to ensure he kept the same ethos as Martinez at the club so scoured high and low for anyone who could ensure the Everton players could still moan all season that the reason they were ****e was the manager was upsetting them rather than taking any blame themselves.

RK was the number one choice apparently as he met this criteria. I am ITK on this as I know the famous Everton fan and scouser Jimmy Kranky.

I have heard he is 95 yo and swears a lot. And has a thing for Saint Charlie but is trying to suppress. Fooling no one.

Will they be getting the fat out of the pipes?

The photo of Koeman looking at the club scarf is quite funny. He appears to have a slightly mocking 'What the **** is this?' look on his face, maybe it's the look you have when you've massively ****ed up and the reality of it starts to sink in.
