Downes not having a great game so far today.

That’s because he’s doing his job, Stu’s and some of Smallbone’s. Martin hasn’t learned from the poor set up v Norwich where the midfield was left far too open for the attacking qualities of Sara and Rowe. Same again today, clearly a Downes and Charles type of game. By all means go more open for the sides in the bottom half.

All not lost as some transformative players on the bench but a mountain to climb. Poor tactically here and has to improve.

2-2 half time. You heard it here (probably incorrectly) first. 😋

Is it me or does Bazunu look too casual when the ball comes to him?

People on here have been telling me it's worth sacrificing a bit of shot stopping ability in a keeper to have him play those 10-15 yard passes to defenders. 🤷🏼‍♂️

we've conceded 9 in 4 and a bit games - thats shocking

That's Russell Martin. His teams being defensively appalling is one of his quirks that we're all supposed to be impressed with, because he's got a philosophy.

Our possession stats will still be super.

I would get Fraser and Che on at half time.

I'd get them on now.

Yep, it always bugs me that most managers wait until half time to fix any issues with the stating line up. Mourinho is the only manager I can think of in recent times who wouldn't have any qualms about changing things during the first half if needs be

We simply have no defensive midfield, Sunderland just went straight through the middle of us after our high press resulting I. Another shot on goal. Can’t have this little shape about us, Charles is surely a long term fit in there at least for away games where we at least need a semblance of shape.

God awful start to a game this.
