SaintH Posted Wednesday at 16:03 Posted Wednesday at 16:03 You are absolutely right of course - but you have made the assumption that the club know what they are doing. I have been left with little confidence that they do.
Starksj1995 Posted Wednesday at 16:08 Posted Wednesday at 16:08 There is no chance we would’ve let him go without a replacement lined up, which is what the athletic have said it will be very interesting who we sign as the replacement 1
Hussar Saint Posted Wednesday at 16:09 Posted Wednesday at 16:09 It doesn't matter which striker we sign because as soon as they arrive at Staplewood, Sport Republic will infect them with 'Damian Downs Syndrome' 1

He should have been binned off years ago. If we demote him this window then both our goalkeeper and striker departments have been deemed not fit for purpose which is frankly a damming indictment of whoever was responsible for evaluating the squad. 3

S-Clarke Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Bit worried that we haven't got any links to a CF to give us something until the summer, unless i've missed them? (just a smart loan is all we need) We already needed 1 with Downs, but with Downs gone (even though he was irrelevant) we have even less options now, if you can even call them options. My fear is that the club are going to hang on the narrative of Ross being like a new addition.... 4

ally_uk Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Well if are not going to bring in a replacement for Downs, what's the harm in given Oyekulne some games, if we think promotion is unrealistic what's the harm in bedding him in seeing what he is capable of? 1
Baird of the land Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Surely got to find some sort of target man striker on loan. 3

Or Dipepa, who is possibly a bit more physical than Oyekunle and has played quite a few matches in League One at 16/17, so has a bit about him.

We need someone better than Archer and someone who stays fit more than Stewart (who will be leaving in the summer anyway). SaintsRoyalty Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 20 minutes ago, Graziano94 said: Edwards £4.5m QPR Wasn’t impressed whenever I saw him play for us but fuck me is it galling to see QPR above us in the table and effectively an upgrade for him. I remember all their fans having a go at the club for not letting them have him after the loan and thinking how sad it is that they think he’d be better off at their little club. This is the legacy of sport republic. Frequent reality checks of our shitness that get more and more embarrassing. 1
ant Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Don't understand flogging Edwards at that price unless we've decided he has zero future here. If so, have we really given him the opportunity to prove otherwise? And as much as many of us dislike the 'player trading' approach, even in that respect it represents a meagre profit.
Osvaldorama Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Surprised we got that much for him tbh, he’s been awful here. 2
Suhari Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 37 minutes ago, Graziano94 said: Edwards £4.5m QPR Didn't we pay around £3M for him? #playatradin' He's never looked all that for us. and doesn't have the physicality needed for a top CB I don't think. Don't understand how he was seemingly so good for QPR lasy season, but never shown it for us. Hope we reinvest in a striker. 1
Pamplemousse Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I suspect for such a low price we've put in a massive sell on clause. And hopefully, if we're prepared to let a CB go, it means we're bringing someone in...
LuckyNumber7 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago If true about Edwards, that's excellent business. Thought he'd be good for us in the Championship but he's been pretty dreadful, a huge disappointment. Fantastic if we've made a profit.
Baird of the land Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Makes sense to sell Edwards. He's buried down the pecking order and hasn't looked good when he has started.
