You are absolutely right of course - but you have made the assumption that the club know what they are doing. I have been left with little confidence that they do.

Yeah surely we have a striker lined up to come in.

Hmmmmm, we probably do have someone lined up but there is a/every chance we fuck it up and end up with the usual ‘we tried but…..’ bullshit or b/that the lined up individual turns out to be just as shit (ok maybe not THAT shit).

You're telling me we don't need a Sports Synergy Officer? Get with the century, bro.

Can we sign a striker that can actually play football please?

Jesus Christ give you head a wobble.

A footballer that can use his feet?

Next you’ll be demanding for a goalkeeper that can use his hands! 🤣

The players will now be customer success partners …

Dont worry, the ability to succeed doesn’t matter in the slightest

In a make believe world where they exercise the option

It says something about our recruitment team that we’re getting rid of our big summer striker signing, one window on.

It does but also shows a willingness to face facts and move on. How many times have I read on here that the club will stick with e.g. Bazunu out of pride and refuse to admit they're wrong - not true actually

Since a lot of our recruitment is giving young inexperienced people a chance to have a career in the championship he sounds like he will fit right in

Be very interested in who the replacement is for him

Apart from the fact that we have stuck with Bazunu for ages. He should have been binned off years ago. If we demote him this window then both our goalkeeper and striker departments have been deemed not fit for purpose which is frankly a damming indictment of whoever was responsible for evaluating the squad.

Bit worried that we haven't got any links to a CF to give us something until the summer, unless i've missed them? (just a smart loan is all we need)

We already needed 1 with Downs, but with Downs gone (even though he was irrelevant) we have even less options now, if you can even call them options.

My fear is that the club are going to hang on the narrative of Ross being like a new addition....

Well if are not going to bring in a replacement for Downs, what's the harm in given Oyekulne some games, if we think promotion is unrealistic what's the harm in bedding him in seeing what he is capable of?

Or Dipepa, who is possibly a bit more physical than Oyekunle and has played quite a few matches in League One at 16/17, so has a bit about him.

We play a 1 striker formation. A 4th striker isn't going to get much gametime.

Edwards £4.5m QPR

I can think of at least two CBs I'd have liked to have sold before him. But understandable for all parties given his lack of playing time.

Will be a bargain for them I reckon. If it goes towards a striker I'm fine with it. If it doesn't then fuck it.

Who cares. We need someone better than Archer and someone who stays fit more than Stewart (who will be leaving in the summer anyway). Also someone to replace Armstrong when he's having a poor run of form (like now)

Wasn’t impressed whenever I saw him play for us but fuck me is it galling to see QPR above us in the table and effectively an upgrade for him. I remember all their fans having a go at the club for not letting them have him after the loan and thinking how sad it is that they think he’d be better off at their little club. This is the legacy of sport republic. Frequent reality checks of our shitness that get more and more embarrassing.

Don't understand flogging Edwards at that price unless we've decided he has zero future here.

If so, have we really given him the opportunity to prove otherwise?

And as much as many of us dislike the 'player trading' approach, even in that respect it represents a meagre profit.

Didn't we pay around £3M for him? #playatradin'

He's never looked all that for us. and doesn't have the physicality needed for a top CB I don't think. Don't understand how he was seemingly so good for QPR lasy season, but never shown it for us.

Hope we reinvest in a striker.

If true about Edwards, that's excellent business. Thought he'd be good for us in the Championship but he's been pretty dreadful, a huge disappointment. Fantastic if we've made a profit.
