Robinson out of the game tomorrow. Surely that means Edozie will be back on the bench. If not our wide options will look extremely limited.

I think the awareness campaign is called "every minute counts" or something like that.

Paul Daniels went one better than that years ago. He was quite* ahead of his time.

Eckert said everyone available at the presser I just watched. Where has this come from?

I originally predicted a 3-1 win to us but also just watched highlights of their 0-0 draw away to Hull - they looked quite tidy, played some good football and deserved to win so this is likely to be tougher than I thought.

Watford fan I know reckons the manager leaving might do them good and a change of formation fits better, young physical side , I can see it being a 2-2 again like our game at Vicarage Road earlier in the season

The bit I saw/heard said someone was having a scan, but I didn't catch who, presumably it was Robinson.

I think that was Roerslev.

Anyone got a summary of today’s presser?

Here you go... Tonda looking pretty relaxed and happy

  • Yes the club did the right things in the window
  • It was important to get the numbers slightly down
  • We have a great number of staff, but the number of players we have does consume resource
  • We can dedicate that little bit more time to individuals
  • Adam Armstrong has written an unbelievable chapter for this club
  • But his wish was for a change, and we needed to be opened to offers
  • We found something that worked for all involved
  • If you look at us in general. We have lots of qualities on the pitch but size and physicality is not really one of them
  • Ross gives us that, I believe Larin will give us that
  • There has been a lot of player movements in the summer, but we are happy to have James Bree back
  • He has experience and we feel that already, it is helping us
  • The squad is looking very strong at the moment
  • THB has been excellent. He was outstanding last weekend, not many players can make that pass
  • He is now growing again as a player, he is also a new father and he is maturing
  • Stoke away showed that we are moving forward, I have been trying to say this for a while
  • We were more solid, more certain and showed some quality at the forward end of the pitch
  • I am familiar with how Watford operate having been here for a few years
  • They have had game in midweek so we have seen any little changes they may have made
  • They looked quite similar but with changes in the middle of the pitch
  • They got a good result at Hull and played well, but we have had a whole week to prepare
  • The squad are as good as they can be, only Mads is really out.
  • It is always easier after a win, but we have to be on top tomorrow

For an early kick off, I would go around to the store for a bit and catch them on the way out. Will be about 3:00/3:15.

Kick off is actually at 12:31 so you have extra minute if that helps.

I'm struggling to remember any notable wins against them. They seem to be a bit of a bogey team for us, in my mind at least.

Of course there was the fastest PL goal of all time from Shlong, but we still didn't win that game. Other than that I can only really remember going there on Boxing Day around 2005/6 and them tonking us 3-0, and then that time pre-VAR when Doucoure got a late equaliser by punching the ball into the net.

Your memory is fading. Last 10 meetings we've won 4 drawn 4 and lost 2.

FA cup semi final at Villa park 2003. I was in the Watford end biting my tongue!

Confirmed by Tonda that he'll be in the squad today.

Has anyone explained why the club decided to make ourselves look like fucking tinpot idiots with all the rivalry thing on their communications this week?

If they think they were being clever or ironic it hasn’t worked.

It's got a lot of attention, so from their point of view, it probably has worked.

All publicity is good publicity etc.

Feeling optimistic about today’s game - which is a rare thing nowadays & normally leads to complete disappointment 😞

So, I’m going to keep up my negativity & say Watford will stuff us, in the hope that it maintains my run of getting it wrong 🤞🙏🏼 COYR

Unchanged I hope. Peretz, Bree, THB, Jack, Welington, Downes, Jander, Fellows, Azaz, Scienza, Stewart with Cyle coming off the bench.

Let's make it 10 points from 4 games and keep the good form going. That sixth spot is still catchable and beating Watford drags them to within one point of us.

I suppose every game is a must-win encounter now. That is until both the playoffs are unachievable and we're safe from relegation.

Strangely optimistic today. 4-0 to Saints.

Must win for play offs.

Relegation not so much. We can bimble along winning one in three or whatever, we won't be going down.

We just have a few too many extremist nutcases on this forum who think the opposite of missing out on the play offs can only be certain relegation to L1.

Our world is more boring than that, 15th place exists for us this season.

Hoping we can close the gap on the top six today. 3-0 to us - Stewart, Scienza and Larin (on his debut) to score 😊 COYR 😊

Welcome back Sam.

Unchanged and the bench looks strong (plus Manning 😀).

Yes, best team on the pitch and pleased to see Sam Edozie on the bench. Is Robinson injured because I'd like to see Sam come on for a few minutes today?

If Eckert isn't careful I'll start losing my fear of the seeing the teamsheet every week. Nice to see a settled team where we know our best 11 and are playing them to their strengths. Extra bonus points if there is an Edozie cameo in it.

Nice

Was going to say the same thing, it’s a relatively modern concept constantly chopping and changing the team. In my view it’s far more beneficial to give the players a chance to have a run and get to know their team mates.

For me today is where this set of players need to show they are still very much in the hunt for a playoff place. I want to see a statement of intent from us and to go at Watford from the start. We need to be winning all our home games now without fail as we have left ourselves a mountain to climb. Lose today and unfortunately i will not see us as a playoff contender.

Feel a bit sorry for Bragg not even making the squad at the moment, but I think he'll be a big player for us at some point.

Yep, but you would have Downes, Jander and Charles before him anyway. Romeu is the odd one, I'm not quite sure why we brought him in with Charles close to a return, although of course perhaps we weren't to know how Bragg would turn out at the time. Still hopefully his influence behind the scenes can be positive, and with injuries or suspensions both Oriol and Bragg might yet see some game time. And Sesay - he seemed close to the first team at the start of the season, I'm surprised he wasn't loaned out in the window.
