They are a blooming good side, and defended really well for the most part today. The tie should have been done and dusted for them by HT on sat.

Their fans however, fucking batshit mental. I thought scousers were bad, but this lot are in a different universe.

Best keep your fitness up lads, I’m sure you’ll definitely definitely still be in the final

Maybe get Gibbo to order the open top bus too?

Very good side, some really good players. The whole spy thing is completely ridiculous, blown out of all proportion and has overshadowed what were two very exciting games of football between two good teams at this level. Good luck to them next season

I've enjoyed this mini rivalry.

I'll forget it next season when we're a premier league team.

Let's reignite it in a couple of years

Ignoring all the spy gate and fan nonsense and just talking about football, I thought they're a really well coached side. They made it really hard for us to get any space, or make any real dangerous openings. When they had their moments, they used the ball really well too and are a pretty tidy footballing side.

Their finishing is what's cost them over the season though, they've just not been clinical enough. They blew their chance in the first half at their place, and it was the story of the season.

Their fans have acted a bit weird, but I think from a footballing point of view they gave us as good a game we've had in a long time - and they'll probably do well next season if they add a couple of centre forwards.

I was at the riverside on Saturday, sat 2 seats from the netting with them. Getting abused for 90 minutes and twice witnessed them throwing stuff at our fans, once not far from hitting a child.

After tonight all I can say it have that you fucking weird goblin like bunch of northern cunts. Fuck you and your dirty little ground in a shit hole city. Your whinging and whining over “spygate” has been an a utter embarrassment, and you’ve surpassed Scousers in the hard done by stakes.

I hope that late goal hurt, and if we go up I hope we sign another of your players just to annoy you.

Aside from that have a good summer ya’ll.

the presenter, 'Dana' referred to Southampton as a “rotten football club with horrible players and horrible fans” and described Southampton player Taylor Harwood-Bellis as “scum” and “a piece of scum”.

See fans still expecting us to be thrown out and add to that a 5 game ban for THB

How professional...

Should report them to Ofcom. Not very impartial from the beeb is it.

Nailed it. Never really had an opinion on boro but their fans for a week or so have been embarrassing. Soft, fragile, deluded wet wipes. They think the ref cost them😂. Probably try saying we paid him off even though we could have had 3 pens, the last one on larin being as blatant as you can get

All i hear from them is "bush this, bush that..."

If they want to see an impressive bush I'll just pull my pants down.

Rent free in their hedge, surely?

I'll echo other sentiments, they are a really good team, maybe just missing a big man up top.

I just wish they had let the two games play out, let the investigation happen, then get worked up about it all afterwards

They have gone into overdrive from the get go about something neither team can control, and their team have played themselves into the ground in the first 60 minutes of the first game which has ultimately decided their fate

Are you going fucking soft?

No they fought well, they battled and showed great courage.  its lovely to see these small clubs challenging at the top of the championship. Their fans have had the time of their lives this season.  Plucky working class town owned by local boy done good who got the whole country behind them were in dreamland for a while taking the lead then gallantly defending for their lives. Despite being out on their feet they dug deep, battled, put their bodies on the line taking the game deep into extra time. Then big nasty unbeatable Southampton cruelly snatched it away, it would have been a great story but ended in heartbreak with even our ball boys bullying them in the end.  But I wish them well.

As I walked back to my hotel the supporter coaches came past. They looked gutted and who can blame them. Horrible way to lose a game and a 6 hour journey home. Some may go straight to work. Ultimately we are all football fans and want the best for our team. FWIW I wish them all the best and I take my hat off to those travelling supporters. Southampton mid week is a proper fans journey

Fifth in a two horse race. Didn’t show up last night. Nothing to show for anything at all.

Fuck off Boro, you insufferable cunts.

Yep. If I was a fan of theirs I would be questioning how they threw away automatic promotion after being top two for most of the season.

Proper weirdos. You couldn't imagine Blackmore doing that!

Shame they are such thundercunts because that was the best defending I've seen from an opposition team and they were impressive in general. Should have been put of sight after the first half of the first leg.

Absolutely, probably one of the best teams we have played this season at St Marys.

If they'd had one of our strikers they'd have won that easily imo. They were gone in the second half and needed better strength in depth off the bench. They will be in the playoffs minimum next year.
