Our crest should be a tasteful photoshop montage of Benny Hill, Rishi Sunak, Scott Mills, Chris Packham, Sir Christopher Cockerell, Ken Russell, Charlie Dimmock, Matt Cardle, James Lance, Howard Jones, Ollie Locke, Jona Lewie, the drummer from Coldplay and Adamski all sat on the same New Forest pony

No Craiiiiiiiiiig David? He’s proper bo, I tell thee.

Strawman fallacy. At no point did I say it should be on the badge. All I did was respond to a post about famous ships connected to the city.

Another MLG fail. So many in just one afternoon.

He'll be on the shirt - the club just needs people to 'donate' (like with the pavers), and their names will be printed on the shirt in tiny letters to make out Craig's face from a specific angle (so as not to distract during games).

more importantly, no Lucy Pinder or Sekou Mara’s mum?   Or even a sexy nun?

We should have Benny Hill on our badge.

Might be quite fitting, as we seem to have had someone akin to Benny's character Fred Scuttle in charge of recruitment and manaagerial appointments for some time now.

I say no. Because we would almost certainly get something horrible. However it does feel that there is a certain inevitability about a change because marketing people love rebranding, not least for the outrageous fees they get.

I wouldn't change the badge personally, I like it - feels like it falls in the sweet spot between retro and modern.

I would however like for us to use the Southampton coat of arms more though.

Wether that be integrated into the design of the shirt, a small logo on the kneck or just around the ground.

The current crest is perfect. You can instantly recognise it from just a silhouette which is an earmark of good design.

I personally really like the FA Cup Winners crest which omits the black background of the "Southampton FC" bit. Just feels a little more aerodynamic somehow.

Maybe we should just do what Weymouth have done and create a load of shit new badges/logos to help with the apparently confused visual identity of the club.

I say with jest. I like our badge and don't want it to change.

That's amazing.

'We need to simplify, and improve consistency. So what better way to do that than by having six different logos.'

What a dogs dinner that is.

I know a little bit about branding/marketing but blimey anyone can see they don't need all that shit.

Feels like the product of a small business where no one on the board can agree on anything so for a quiet life they've just done everything. (I guarantee someone important there wanted the anchor logo to be the main club crest but they've bottled it/backed down).

All set up for the next Director of Marketing along to rip it all up and make a big play on how they have simplified and streamlined.

It looks good on the special shirt from this season.
