What a finish.

Pretty sluggish at times in the 1st half, slow on the ball.

2nd half much better, and the quality of the bench won it.

We really cannot go into the games with Arma as the central striker, that is ridiculous.

Manning was superb when he came on, quality crosses, goal and an assist.

Shout to Charles, who's cross-field ball to Manning was brilliant.

Edwards ropey, Quarshie not a comfortable on the ball, Bazunu with a brilliant save and Stephens was good, particularly clearing up for Edwards.

amazing goal by manning. Stephens somehow popping up at right wing to quieten the haters for a few days. Bazanu too with a massive save.

can’t say still’s tactical approach impressed. We set up in a way that helped Wrexham, took too long to change. Guess you can say he was willing to throw the kitchen sink at it, which resulted alongside Wrexham lack of fitness saved us.

Signings look a bit raw but I guess they add needed physicality. Downs worrying inability to kick the ball was saved by Stephens finish.

Fraser definitely a good squad fixture this season. Need 2 or 3 good wide quality starters and a #10. 

Edwards rotten, Sugawara not much better, Quarshie mixed bag as you’d expect. Wellington good overall. Stewart looked more refined than Downs but the latter did unsettle Coady finally. Robinson some promising moments and nice feet, needs to pack a punch with his shots and used to getting fouls in the u23s that he won’t get in the men’s staff. Lallana struggled early in his career with that and ideal to help Jay. 

Charles excellent, Downes rusty but got minutes under belt.

AA terrible game, might have played himself out of the XI until October there.

So much to build on...  Quarshie fantastic player... . Robinson... so much to come. Stephens reputation massively boosted. Manning the new JWP....  Baz!  world class...     

Last year we deserved a point or win on opening day against Newcastle. Not getting it put a dent in our confidence we seemed never to recover from.   Hopefully today sees exactly the opposite effect.

2025/2026...  feel the excitement!

Do not underestimate that save from Gav and the recovery from Jack (wasn’t sure if it was him or Ronnie).
 

There’s a mistake or two in Quarshie but he’s gonna be a fan favourite. 

Big fan of not returning the ball back to Wrexham, who by the way are utter dross without Kieffer Moore.

We should have been winning that comfortably. Wrexham were fucking awful, they’ll struggle big time. 

Second half was much much better and that sort of finish could start the momentum for the season now. Point or better at Ipswich next week and we’ll be well on our way.

Pretty bad that after a long preseason, there was seemingly very little structure or style of play being implemented. I’m not sure why Still waited until a competitive game to play the first team together  

Arma doesn’t work centrally. RW or not at all.

We won, but truly that papered over the cracks and we need to be much better.

Moore was lauded by the commentators but he is cart hoarse, our defenders were far to slow to get into the game and made him look reasonable, he will not get so much change from a more composed defensive set up.  We basically we caused our own problems, Wrexham have a long way to go to achieve in this  league.
