    Default Fifth Round Draw

Nice to be in it. All big boys still in for now.
    Always hoping for Portsmouth.

One Show ratings must soar when they have the draw.

    Liverpool or Shrewbury at home.

Media will get excited for Spurs Liverpool. And it'll be Saints Shrewsbury.

A home draw against someone like Coventry or Birmingham would be good

I turned off the Shrewsbury game about two minutes after that own goal. What did I miss?

Nothing much. Couple of Shrewsbury goals, ref missed giving pen for Shrews too. Boring draw.

Dancing in the streets of Shropshire tonight.... If there was going to be a result I never thought it was going to begin from 0-2 against "The greatest team on the planet (TM)" so I gave in to the children and put a film on.

Very pleased for that kid who put it in his own net. Now thankfully not the story.

We'll get an easy draw with a great chance of progressing to the quarters, and then go out meekly to Spurs.

Me too, what a load of crap. I'm sick of the big boys putting out 3rd XI's to play League 1 teams. It's a flippin' insult to the home fans who otherwise never get to see the likes of van **** and Mane play and to the players themselves who no doubt would relish the challenge of being up against the world's best. Even if Shrewsbury had been 5-0 down at HT at least the fans and the players would have had a day to remember fr the rest of their lives.

Romance of the Cup? No wonder the Beeb got fobbed off with this non-event.

All the Shrewsbury players will be at least be able to tell their grand kids that they played against Pompey. Massive club, massive.

Happy with the draw, hope we can get the job done in the replay first! Did think for a minute we were gonna get the Skates again!

Would have loved them at home

Wanted the skates, was only 2/1 aginst when we come out at home.

Ah well, not a bad draw if we can somehow get past Spurs

Thank God. Really didn't want to play them again. We've got nothing to gain and everything to lose.

If we can dump Spurs out, great chance to make the quarters. Happy enough with that.

Don’t talk nonsense man. Nothing to gain, pony.

Smash 4 or 5 past them again in the same season. They’re league one ffs, we battered them when we were Shiite. We’re on our best run for a long time, we could seriously embarrass them.

Even a scrappy 1-0 win with the ball deflecting off Ings' cock would be fine if we'd got them.

Wouldn't matter what the score was as long as we won.

Get in! Another chance to beat the wife’s team. Yes we were close to Skates but they’d no doubt rub it in if we failed to beat Spurs. Let them bask in their 4 nil defeat a little longer.

Thrashing them twice in one season would be something to gain.

Would have loved to have smashed the skates again but Norwich at home is a decent draw.

There is nothing like a derby game and there is no game like a game against the skates. Nothing competes.

They really want Arsenal at their place, it'd be funny if Bournemouth win. Then they can all have a nice song and dance at Fratton about how much they hate us.

Norwich is a great draw. They'll still be fighting relegation, won't be full strength, and they're rubbish.

Huge incentive to get past Spurs and have a real shot at quarters.

Also Liverpool will likely to out playing weakened teams v Shrewsbury and then maybe Chelsea.

So beat Spurs, beat Norwich then get Pompey at SMS and beat them 9-0.

Onwards to a semi final where Liverpool and City have already been knocked out. Beat Chelsea gain, then United in the final who we batter.

So in the first three rounds, we’ve had three home draws against Spurs, Norwich and a Championship team and the round 4 tie has gone to a replay. Sound familiar?

  40. Default

Shame it’s not Poch’s spurs, we all know what he thought of the cup. Jose’s a different kettle of fish, going to be really really tough up there.

Glad the distraction of potential Pompey game was avoided

Considering we're in bloody good form, have got a half decent chance of beating Spurs, Norwich at home in the last 16, and Liverpool aren't taking the FA Cup seriously, 100-1 seems to be a bit overpriced for us to win the whole thing.

Odds are probably fair, if anything should be 1000/1 with our record over the last 40 years. You’d expect Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester , if you add Spurs to that the last 8 looks very strong.

It's had a nice ring to it but no Wolves and Hornets to continue the trend. But we have so far had the Terriers, Cockerels and potentially the Canaries. If all goes to plan we'll take the Shrews in the quarters and then anyone from the Owls, Bluebirds, Throstles, Magpies or Rams after.....the fish-fiddlers need not apply.

Yeah, in that time we've only been to 4 quarter-finals, 3 semi-finals and a final - I would say 10 million to one would be more accurate....

Just noticed the 5th Round ties are all midweek and no replays, the 'magic of the cup' is waning.

That is the agreement to fit in the break as we have it

TV and the European competitions and their money and the big teams now dominate everything. The magic went out of football some time ago.

Yep games will be spread over Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Thursday that week, so if us or Newcastle get through and they put one of us on the Thursday we could find out league game the following weekend moving, it’s a bit of a mess really.

And the 40 year assessment period plucked from thin air happens to just exclude an actual cup win.
