For those bemoaning tonight's performance (so far), did you genuinely believe we would go through the rest of the season without a bad performance and/or another defeat?

If not, what's so bad about this game being one of those inevitable matches...?

If it's inevitable that we're going to lose at least one more game this season (Coventry lost 7 last season, we've lost 3 so far), then losing to WBA away is probably not the end of the world in the general scheme of things...

You're pragmatically....

Yeah but no shots on goal? Ain’t gonna win games of football like that, let alone claw back a goal.

Manning is doing my fucking head in

Where is he playing??

Manning is being carried…. Forcing Edozie to play at Left back which is not his position…

What the actual FUCK was that from Stephens!?

That's on Schlotterbeck mate, come on. He had an age to get hold of the ball.

I'm starting to wonder if there's one of those hotel illnesses going on, the whole team looks sluggish and not really with it.

Mubama needs to be subbed off and never feature again for us

If City got demoted to League 2, he’d even struggle there on this evidence.

Positive - unlike Damian Downs, at least we haven’t bought him. Definitely a new striker and centre back a January priority though.

Rivals Watford for the worst half of the season. Come on lads do you want promotion?

Worse than that. This is as poor as it gets. We look like a relegation threatened team with zero idea. That was pathetic all over the park.

HT. Got away with only 1-0. WBA have been miles better...in every part of the pitch.

This has been coming, we have been very slow for large periods in nearly all of our games....this time, WBA are at it (unlike QPR the other day)

Why is it to be expected?

That’s exactly what Stoke fans told us to expect and they were right.

I wouldn’t have opted for the lasagne at Sandwell Premier Inn either.

It couldn't get much worse to be fair. We can only hope WBA knacker themselves and we make some decent subs.

WBA have missed a few decent chances though, which is something worth holding on to. We have been shite but we are only 1-0 down... and that was from a penalty.

WBA are far superior in fitness I cant see them walking round stopping and holding up play like we do.

Shower of Shite. But, as bad as we have been West Brom deserve to lead as they have played well.

Tonda. Time to earn your crust.

I was singing Manning's praises this week to someone, saying how much he's improved. My fault. Hook him!

If this was FM I'd be preparing 4 subs, try Ehibationham and bring on Fellows, Welington and Dobbin at half time. It couldn't be much worse.

Worst 45 minutes of the season and yet... we are only 1-0 down. Next goal in this game is crucial.

Wow. Poor display. Second to everything, lacking energy, slow passing, and essentially playing with 9 men.

Can only improve.

One of the worst halves of Saints football I've ever watched. And there's been plenty. They all need sacking. We've not been great all season but this is next level shit. West Brom better than us in every single way. West fucking Brom!

Oh dear! We don't really have a foothold in this game. Need to change that up as our attacking threat on the counter isn't enough.

Judging from the comments on here, sounds like the first half versus Leicester last season.

I'm not one to write off young players but this could be the nail in the coffin for Mubama, Tonda clearly doesnt rate him and won't like what's on show tonight.

Would like to see Tonda do something different and really go for it now, perhaps a 3-5-2/3-4-1-2

That was awful. Truly 1 star awful. Not a single chance worthy of the name created and Brom just looked sharper and more up for it all over the pitch.

Edozie really is toilet.

I’ve wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt as he has shown flashes.

But he’s been given a lot of chances this season and stunk the place out every time. So weak on the ball

On the one hand, we're lucky it's only 1-0, on the other, they've only scored because of a penalty. We could still shithouse this if Tonda makes the right changes.

Worst performance under Tonda so far?

Middlesbrough away was pretty bad. This is definitely up there so far.

To think Edozie had the cheek to moan about not getting minutes, while regularly turning in “performances” like this when he does get a chance. Hes the last of our pathetic 22/23 Man City signings and needs to go the same way as the others. Sick of seeing him at our club. He’s even worse than when he first signed

When was the last time Saints had less than 36.4% possession and NO shots on goal in a first half? WBA are doing a great job stopping us play a game of football by out-passing and out-muscling  us. If they could do a better job in front of goal it would be 4-0.

It's the manner of it and how poor we are all over the pitch.

Well, yes, of course... but that's my point...  when a team loses, even really good ones, it's usually because they're having a "bad day at the office"...   I'm not going to lose sleep over a one-off sub-par performance when we've got some key players missing and have been playing really well of late. Every team has games like this.... Hull City lost 15 games in the championship last season and are sitting comfortably in mid-table in the premier league right now... I'm sure they had plenty of games like this last season... Much more than we'll probably have I'd venture...As long as it doesn't become a habit then we can draw a line and pragmatically move on.

FWIW, I think we'll come away with a draw from this game, which will be a decent outcome in the circumstances.

Reminiscent of early season games where players looked very much off the pace. Just how it's only 1-0 is what gives me a modicum of hope that this can be turned around.
