Fraser is a pretty good wing back, didn’t he play there in the playoff final and the games leading up to it?

Best player on the pitch in the play off final but that was a LWB. Him and Wellington can’t both be there and I can’t see him at RWB so be interesting to see how we line up.

We have Roerslev who has played 100+ games in the premier league for Brentford but can't get in the team ahead of Fraser at RWB either?

Yes but Roeslev is off the pace for this team…

Fully planned on watching this.

Now I realise I'm double booked watching a Simple Minds audience-with thingy now, and an important call with a customer in California at 8:30.

Which means we're going to play a blinder and be 4-0 up by half time.

You can thank me later.

I just don't see the sense in signing two of the Championship's best attackers. Two exciting signings and benching them, restricting them to cameos off the bench. What did Azaz get at the weekend? 5 minutes?

I just think an attacking midfield three of Scienza - Azaz - Fellows would be exciting and good enough for this level, but I don't think the three have been on the pitch together. Scienza causing issues down one wing and Fellows down the other. Stops teams from doubling up on one, as Armstrong isn't running at, nor beating anyone with skill on the other side.

But, hopefully I'm wrong and we play out a comfortable victory with this line-up.

Floaty crosses from Fellows getting a mention (as in stop doing them). But he seems to have a really good move of finding a yard between the far touchline and penalty area and then dinking (floating) in a cross, which at WBA was then converted. Often. I looked forward to that when he signed.

A flaw in the plan....we've got nobody to head it in and Fellows isn't playing.

3-2 to Saints tonight.

It's mad isn't it - we sign a tricky winger who can cross the ball but...he can't get in the side because we've given him nobody to cross the ball to. You couldn't make it up!

I agree. And also it's not just strikers that could or should be there for good crosses, decent attacking midfielders can be in the box. Fellows seems to be missing out because of our general style (being slow to support wing play included in that 'style'). And yes, that is bizarre.

Jelert out injured and Roerslev doesn’t make the bench? He (like many of Saints signings over the past few seasons) looked good on his debut and then quickly falling out of favour.

Everyone hates the back 3/5 right?

Shame about Jelert - he was looking like a great starter at RWB. Thinking if the idea is to get Fraser forward into attack Bristol will target every out ball down that side as it’ll be seen as a wide open weakness. Still think we can grab a result which let’s face it would be a bit of a welcome surprise.
