We played three premier league teams last year. Beat two of them, including the champions.

We haven't competed today. Last season we made it hard for teams to play against us. Today we've been easy to defend against because we're just so slow with the ball.

Do try and keep up. Tonda was cheating last season. He's been found out for what he really is. A bang average manager.

The defence needs major surgery even more so if THB leaves.

The whole performance has been woeful since we went 1-0 up.

Needs to be a first choice box to box CM coming in as well, someone to carry the ball and tell the coaching staff to fuck off in parallel when they scream for the corporate SR sideways and backwards.

If Harwood Bellis stays at Saints make him captain and sign another capable centre back.

Jack Stephens is toilet! Should of been properly upgraded two seasons ago.

Huge complacency and no intensity.

Thing is, given we spent a hefty sum on Dobbin, the new CB that we require (regardless of THB) will be on the cheap and will likely need many games to look like he belongs.

Oh well....Sports Republics mission to transform us into Stoke is nearly complete. We are never going up now Tonda can't cheat.

Lots of sensitive souls on here tonight, but you take first place. Congrats.

Bet the Watford forum has crashed if this place is anything to go by. Let’s see how it goes on Saturday… not great for shifting my tickets though!

People who think that this team is going up are utterly f'ing deluded.

Tonda's been rumbled and should've been given the boot in May.

Maybe people will start to realise after 10 games when Saints only have 4 or 5 points.

That’s the spirit!

Yes we were.

I think we were poor throughout and the West Ham youth team initially showed us too much respect which papered over the cracks

Absolutely no shame in losing. Losing in that manner is disgusting though. Interesting seeing watching the Jose documentary and all the players saying how it wasn't the results it was about dying on the pitch and giving everything every time. I know it's the cup that we don't really care about but effectively giving up in the second half should not be acceptable.

Perfect outcome. Out the pointless cup and the board can’t deny we need a better squad after that. West Ham only tried for 45 minutes.

Please go Edozie - you’ve got nothing to offer this club anymore.

We really have been sucked into buying a lot of Man City never will be’s in recent years.

Because it was against there kids

Fine but that's at least in part because we had no central midfield and a makeshift central defence (that will be forced to play at the weekend because we have no alternative.)

For the goals, Peretz, Stephen’s (x2) and edozie  all at fault. Defending is our major problem

Edozie didn’t even attempt to recover his mistake.

The 10 people left all booing

Good for them, and feel for them after being mugged off for what was it, £27 on top of two consecutive void seasons.

Surely another poor performance v Millwall and the atmosphere is going to turn toxic?

So many players playing poorly.
we seem to be 2nd to every second ball, which I assume is a lack of fitness issue.

i really hate our current cm, Nathan wood is running with the ball more than them.

We essentially didn't have a midfield tonight...

Tonda doesn’t have anywhere near enough brownie points to sneak-in his own version of Russball, playing to the squad’s weaknesses and frustrating the shit out of players and fans alike. If that’s what he’s doing, and it sure looks like it, he might as well go now.

I had to switch off at 1-1. We weren't the better side, but we're still very much in the game and capable of causing problems.

Turn back on to see Edozie and Welington link up to get a ball across that just needed a tap in.

Somewhere between these two things, something went badly wrong.

Remembering Stephen's clearance that he put into orbit, and could easily have put into his own net, I have some suspicions...

Unfortunately it was 9m, not bobbins

So far, he looks up there with the Bazunu, Stewart and Larios debacles. And the malingering piece of shit friend of Rasmus’s from Brentford who allegedly plays right back.

Well done scouting team, great effort.

Could've got a very decent box to box CM at this level for £9m, and you bought that lemon instead.

That's as bad as we've been in a year.

Little cohesion, zero spark or energy, slow and ponderous. And the defending - fuck me.

Bit of a strange line up too.

Jack needs replacing. He's woeful.

We need another proper CM and winger. Oh, and CF.

Let's hope it was just a bad day at the office.

Why on earth are we morphing into a shit Russell Martin team?

I would bet that, since the start of the season, Capn Jack has had more touches of the ball than any other saints player (or near enough).

Just fucking slow, boring and predictable. Bit like this time last year.

Yes we look weak. Lack of energy and quality. Even last some of last year's players look like they can't be bothered to go again.

Problem is Stephen’s will be playing Saturday. Otherwise it will be quarsie

Quarshie may be a bit clumsy on the ball but there's no way he's any worse than what we've seen from Stephens so far this season.

Total and utter dog shit. Got schooled in our own back yard by their kids, and then when they bought on the guns we completely folded.  The Stephens love affair has to stop now, he is a woeful defender, leader and footballer.  I can't see us anywhere near the promotion places after that debacle, I didn't see any players sweating blood for the manager today, in fact in the last 10 minutes the body language was awful.  Club needs a major overhaul, maybe top eight is a blessing in disguise for us.  Absolute crap performance, thankfully the ground was only half full.

This is a fair point. What is Tonda playing at…
