Part of Diallo's problem is that he didn't get enough games, so why do we need to add another player if he leaves? JWP has a great availability record and if fit will start 100% of league games, so then its either Lavia or Romeu alongside him. If needed we have Armstrong and Aribo who can play centrally should we have an injury crisis of some kind. I lost count of the times our midfield totally missed the runs of our CF’s (esp Broja) last season. Not saying Winks is the answer to that as he is more if the same but we are crying out for a MF that actually looks to play the ball forward as soon as it’s at his feet. VectisSaint Posted 15 July, 2022 Share Posted 15 July, 2022 If Winks is brought in to strengthen our CM then I am fine with that, we were painfully shortn last year with Rom, JWP and Diablo, if were to end up with Rom, JWP, Romeo, Diallo.and Winks with Small one also available I would be OK with that, would allow us to go 3 in the middle with bench options. Still need a no 10 and 2 strikers (and ditch Walcott, Redmond and Djenepo). I’m sure there is heat maps etc. To back me up or prove me wrong, but from what I’ve seen on us (in the flesh), out of possession, Romeu is the one who plays more advanced trying to win the ball higher up the pitch.
