KelvinsRightGlove Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Cracking result. Dug in well, with some big names missing. The solidity Koeman has got into the team is so impressive. He is the signing of the season for me at the minute.

Baird of the land Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Really gutsy performance. Perfect tactical change by Koeman in Cork and Long on, which had an instant impact. Elia was clearly MOM.

Saint Charlie Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Brilliant. Huge week for us and have players possibly back for the next league game. Reed got better as game went on. Fonte quality. Gardos good too. Elia with two great goals and Pelle was top class tonight. How different would we be without him. He offers so much even when not scoring. Brilliant. Loads of teams say they have or want a "winning mentality" but we actually do.
SNSUN Posted 17 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 17 January, 2015 GET IN THERE. Hopefully Arsenal lose as well City can run away with it for all I care. 6 points clear of Arsenal at this stage of the season would be ****ing brilliant.
stknowle Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 massive win. massive week. massive boner Agreed on all 3!!!!!!!!!! Fexsakes this is getting silly. Totally deserved again though. Thought Reed was utterly brilliant, looked like he'd been busting up play in the Prem for years rather than a few games. C'MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Toomer Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 That's ten points in the prediction league, not the best performance but it's three points and that's all that counts we might have got a bit lucky at the end with penalty shout. Saint_Tony Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 We just keep on doing the business, best win of the lot today! Awful first half, but then took control. Do we have a lack of depth in our squad or is this just becoming a myth? Reed was great, and Elia was incredible. #itshappening

Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 We look so good, even on an off day you can see the class of our players and that little bit extra class is winning us these close games. What scares me is that that is exactly how the top 4 teams usually manage to finish top 4. But we can't can we? We're Southampton FFS.

miserableoldgit Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 I was staggered that after the heavy Christmas fixture list, major injuries and three big games in a week, the players were still chasing like a swarm of yellow bees right until the end! SNSUN Posted 17 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Am I correct in thinking that Gardos has played 8, won 7, drawn 1 ? I thought I heard the commentator say Reed has played 7, won 6 and drawn 1. Might have misheard. If Gardos and Reed both have those stats then yippee. Cascadia Saint Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Nice to get some luck going our way... Another great win, what a week! I don't see us ****ing away the end of season run-in like we did last season. If we can keep winning like this, then who knows how high we can finish. Chez Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Thought Gardos had a very strong game winning headers at One end and Pelle winning them at the other. Gave us a huge platform to build from. The pace of our two fullback prevented us being exposed and the work rate of everyone else drives us home. Love the tricks and flicks of Pelle and Elias. Happy days. Saintmike5 Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Outstanding effort to win 3 away games in 6 days. Don't care whether the performances could or couldn't have been better at certain times, coming out of this week with a 100% record is a magnificent achievement and I couldn't be more proud of the team. Minty Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 We are finding ways to win games even when we're knackered and with injuries. That is some achievement. Miltonaggro Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 What character our team have - what a sublime week! Great to see the boys in yellow, Elia looks a gem, a pacy shorter version of Kluivert, fans in good voice, Clyne and Cork telepathy was a joy, Long such a grafter, Pelle a rock. We should stop worrying about the red side of Manchester as the blue side may soon have to worry about us!...

Lord Duckhunter Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Arsenal home ,man utd and Newcastle away this year , 9 points unbelievable. Add to that the fact our 3 best players are missing, and its quite an achievement.
David Strover Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 Anyone think that was very 'Fergy Man United' in the way we won that - not great, finished well and got a bit of luck when it was needed. That is how you finish in the top four of the table - there were few sadsacks on the match thread and I think it is about time that some of them started to believe the Koeman Revolution and get on board. This is a very different Southampton - We March On.
